Well, as my friends know, I am considered an oldtimer here as I've been a member over 4 years here now. I seem to have lost the incentive, or all interest to be here much anymore. In the past year I've made payout maybe 3 times. I used to make payout each month by the middle of the month easily. So I did well in the past. I just haven't been getting many responses etc to my past discussions and it no longer really interests me to be here. So what is there to do to motivate myself to be back to my old usual posting self here after a long break?
As always.....

Make new friends
But keep the old
One is silver
And the other's gold
Well, seriously, I don't know. I get discouraged when somebody I like leaves here, but then somebody else pops up who is interesting and fun, and that makes it worthwhile for me.
I can understand needing a break though. I've stepped away a few times and come back and liked it better for the break.
Maybe instead of posting your own discussions for a while, go around and visit everybody else first, get to know them, etc. Then maybe you'll get more responses to your own discussions.

As far as the feriend end, Seems all the ones I accept etc only want me to respond and they never visit mine. Or a lot are also just looking to spam someone with their other money making sites etc.
I may try to be around more and respond more often.
MAYBE!

I accept whoever asks, and if they scam and spam then they get deleted. I have a lot of friends on here that I never see once I accept them. I request a few people who look interesting, and it is fun. They do not always stay around.

I have some that start discussions and either never respond or never respond to mine. I stop visiting them unless their discussions are really interesting. I don't expect people to respond to every single discussion of mine, but if somebody NEVER stops by, I eventually notice!

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
As you know I have been here at mylot for two years and you have been my friend since I've joined, I don't often make discussions but always like to respond, i love reading about your seanal growing of your veg and your chritmas lights, frost ice and snow discussions, you have to carry on as I would miss all that and I sure your other friends will too if you stop, just carry on enjoy and don't think too much of the earnings, it has been fous months since my last payment but I will be paid this month, I am not that bothered, its the interacting that I love.

I recall accepting your friendship request.
You've been one of a few of my friends here that responds to most my discussions. You're one of the reasons I stay actually.
Thanks deeply also.

I've got to get a pic of here with her purse and credit cards.
She thinks it's real and acts just like mom with the cards.
She walks through the store then has her card ready at the register.
Too cute.
Here's a photo from last week.
She is with her younger brother Hunter/Bubba.

The problem I have is the time to be on My Lot. I still like it here, usually a lot.\
If you have the time to be very active again, and making a good payout each month, there are probably a couple of things you can do to get motivated.
First of all, go though your friends list. Delete any non active member. Then begin inviting new friends.
Any discussion you find interesting to respond to, then invite the person of that discussion to be a friend. You will find a lot of good and interesting people that way.
Every day you log on, go to "my friends discussions" and start responding to some.
Although there are a lot of new members on my Lot, with discussions that dont interest me, there are still many, many good people here. You will find that a number of your friends will respond to your discussions.
You may also find that you turn out not to be interested on the discussions of some of your friends. Just dont respond, or delete them. Only by being active and responding to others, will you find your motivation increases.

Ummm, recall, I am home all day tending to my dad. HAHAHA!
It's not the time, it's just getting motivated.
But so far, from the responses here seems I'd be greatly missed.
So seems I had better start up here again huh?
Thanks for all the tips etc, greatly appreciated.

Hey Grandpa Bob! You are one of the most revered people here on
the Lot! When I first got here, now almost two years ago you
were one of the most "famous" people here! How can you just
turn your back on your friends? I was here for your Granddaughter
Savannas birth and everything before and after! I love your
family, especially Minnie and all her brood! I love hearing about
every single seed you plant and how it comes to fruition! I
love hearing about all the weather in Minnesota! I love seeing
all the beautiful ice pictures you shoot and post! I love hearing
all the stories you tell about gardening and the horrible times
you have during the winter months! I love hearing about your
wife and Buster and your Dad! How can you even think about taking
those things away from those that love you and your family so
very much! I am not a FB person! You and Minnie keep pushing me
to be so I might have to join, but Mylot will always be my first
love! I have some very special friends here and you are definitely
one of the first and foremost! I wouldn't know what this place
would be without "Our Grandpa Bob"! Don't you have any idea how
much people love and respect you here? Think about it! You really
are one of the most popular people on the Lot! We love you, at
least I know I do! Hugs and Love, Opal/Leslie

Moi/
Famous?
Sheesh after reading all this I really feel bad now.
I will be around.
guess I'll have lots to write about with spring here.
I think FB has kept me away a lot as well.
Got to break from there for a bit at least.
I think I'll set a certain time amount for FB and try to be here more often. Thanks for such kind, sweet and endearing words. Love ya.

Honestly, mylotters like you serves as my motivation. The number right beside your username really overwhelms me. It's "wow!" , "he must've worked that hard" and I bet your interest rankings are way beyond my imagination.
Peers like you serve as my motivation in responding to more and more discussions here in mylot. I also have this positive thinking, that maybe the person who posted the discussion was asking for an advice. And probably, possibly, a 2-liner or 3 or a couple paragraphs from me would somehow help him.
What do you feel when you see newbies like me? =) With our little numbers beside our nicks? Don't you just feel proud of yourself? Don't you feel motivated? We are still struggling. You're already up there. =)

Well thank you very much.
I don't really pay attention to the ratings of interest groups anymore.
Like the star they are just a number to me.
As far as the points I have, yes it's been a lot of writing and a lot of work etc. But well worth it as I've learned a lot from others and others have learned from me as well. Thanks for your time here as well. It's greatly appreciated. As far as my feelings about members with low numbers, I don't really think about it much. They're just a member here as I am. I just have been here doing more writing is all. But, I am proud of my work/writings here and also seeing newbies does motivate me at times. Thanks for a GTEAT motivational speech. Best response deserved and awarded for this. Thanks again.

Maybe you are just burned out from doing this over a long period of time. Why not add online businesses to your regular routine like what my entire family is doing. You will earn at the same time in the process. My mother-in-law who is 63 is also doing MyLot and online businesses. You are only as old as you think you are so always think young and look forward all the time.

I do this for the fun of it not the cash earnings.
I take care of my elderly father.
I'm home all day and this and other sites give me stress relief is all.
I meant I am an oldtimer as far as the amount of time I've been a member here. I am only 55 so not old at all. Hahahaha!

Well, from someone else who is considered an Old timer here, I can relate quite well. I have only made payout twice myself in like the last 6 months, and have to find the motivation to want to stay active in here as well. I think a lot of it is finding things we still are interested in talking about, and maybe having to find New friends who are willing to share in things of life with us as well. I know it is good to hear from you, and hope things are Going good.

Bob, I hang around here, just waiting to see when some of my lost friends come back. I did get really busy at work the last year and it made me crazy and I did not get here and I did not see my friends. You know you will continue to be my friend when you are here or when you are not, especially since my daughter lives way up there so close to you. I felt guilty last year for not taking better care of my yard and garden, when you had all those beautiful pictures. Maybe I will be right with you now. I am going back to work, but only part time, and I also work at freelance writing, and I am a member at another site or two. MyLot will always be my heart home though, because of the friends I have here who are for real friends. I have wondered how your dad is, and Buster and Minnie. Say Hi to Deb, and don't be a stranger.

well everyone needs a break lol
I had mine too
I never had many responses and it never bothered me
because being friends doesn't mean my friends have to respond to my discussions
and I don't want my friends to complain that I never respond to theirs
if they want to respond, they respond. If I want to, I respond.
don't let amount of responses bring you down
I am having fun here regardless and I am glad you are back

I really don't spend too much time on myLot anymore. I hardly ever start discussions and I spend at most 20 minutes a day responding to them. I made payout last month for the first time in about 6 months. I too have become less motivated to be here.
I don't really have any advice for you on how to get back into posting on here because I too lack the motivation.
Wandering off now to go look at your other discussions...

I am sorry you have lost interest, but I guess it can happen to all of us at one time or another. So far, I haven't lost interest, and I hope I never do. Only time will tell. I understand what you mean about getting responses though, as I have had a hard time getting a lot of them myself. Sometimes, I get more than I expected, and sometimes, I will get more than I ever thought I would. It can get discouraging, but I just keep going anyway. I just don't post all that many discussions, as I have a hard time coming up with a good topic. I don't know how some come up with so man topics, as they post one discussion right after another, and not sure they are here to learn either. Just trying to earn is all, I certainly don't respond to all their discussions, as I am getting tried of seeing so many from the same users. Anyway, just hang in there, and I am sure that things will get better. You can just post responses and do okay, as I get payout that way, most of the time. If I can do it, anyone can. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

No idea Bob. I spend 18 hours a day here on and off. I do chores as well and run errands and so on, you get the idea. I don't post many discussions because I can't think of anything interesting to say and I spend a LOT of time reading the discussions of others to see what I can respond to. In spite of all that I'm lucky if I make payout once in three months. I've been a regular here on a practically daily basis for nearly 5 years.

Hello grandpa,
So I've been your culprit for not responding in your discussions. But if you look into my side, you'll find how irregular I've become these days. Besides I don't know much about gardening etc.....
It is a 10 months old discussion so I'll have to figure out what you are doing now a days.. Hopefully you'll see this one
A lot of my old friends have become non-existent or non-operative over all these years, and can't lose one more. Does that sound anything like motivation?

So a big sorry Grandpa Bob, will try to do better. Your discussions are always interesting, so please don't feel discouraged. I am always curious to hear about life in the USA, so best wishes to you and your family
