Well here's a photo of my backyard today (Sunday).
It has been in the low to mid 40's F for the past week and the sun and warmth has finally melted most of the 3 feet of snow I had in the yards. I can see about 1/2 of the backyard lawn now. It has given me the gardening bug now as well. Planted a lot of seeds for the garden today as well as set up plans etc for moving some flowers etc and planting a group of new Purple Lilie bulbs I bought recently. So are you ready for spring planting/cleaning? Are you ready for the heat and humidity? I hate the cleaning part. I should have cleaned the garage and tools by now but....
As always.....

I won't be doing any gardening. But my cousin who lives next door to me will be using my back yard to plant his garden. Last year he used half of my back yard and this year he will be using the other half of it to plant his garden. It gives me freebie veggies and mean less grass for me to cut!

Good to see ya around again.
Can't recall the last time I saw you in my discussions.
You mean your WHOLE yard will be a graden?
I can't do that with mine.
Well I could but it's a LARGE yard.
Too much work if it was all garden.

Thanks, I spend a lot of time on facebook on farmville, LOL. Well my backyard will be a garden, not the front yard.

I am glad to be seeing some sun. I did see a honey bee the other day. Also some dandelions and wild violets. I want to plant some butternut squash, because I have really enjoyed making the butternut squash soup I got the recipe for. I was wondering when you were going to start telling us about your seeds. I need to get the yard ready for some veggies. Definitely more than last year.

We actually have been considering doing this as well. Since buying the New house 6 months ago, now that Spring is about here it is starting to bring some motivation to wanting to get things looking nice, and how we would like things to look. Thing is especially with the Rose bushes out front, we know nothing about caring for them, so we need to find out how to cut them back etc. so they will grow better as well. But Happy planting to you.

The snow has been completely gone here for over a week. It has been pretty nice here this past week. Today it was actually nice enough outside to not have to wear a coat. Your grass looks so much nicer than mine though. My grass is pretty much yellow and ugly. I have not really gotten into the spring planting/cleaning mood yet. I am sure with a few more weeks of decent weather I just might though.

How much snow was on the ground?
I had roughly 3 feet in most areas to melt.
Still a lot on the ground, but the shady areas only.
Yellow? Mine is brown. HAHAHAHA!

hi Grandpa Bob oh I am so longing for spring and some warmth,it must have gone down to near freezing last night and my room has been chilly all day, although they claim it went up to 70 but its more like 38 right now, in this room, has the space heater turned on so it should soon warm up.
And I live in sunny southern ca for p;etes sakes., supposed to be warm here but its not right now.

Heater? HAH!
I have my thermostat set at 66 so it does get chilly at night.
But everyone is asleep so no problem.
Plus we're used to chills. HAHAHAHA!

My green thumb has been itching since January! Even more so in Feb when the seeds go on sale super cheap too!
I'm glad to see it go! I'm in WI and I"m so tired of winter & happy to see the sunshine daily! Though I wish I could say the same about my drive way it's turned to mud w/ this melt I really need to get more gravel. *sigh*

I am SO ready for spring! We've had the worst winter in 20 years. I do plan to clean out my garage this spring and I can hardly wait to dig my garden bigger and start planting. I'm ready to put in flowers and improve my landscaping!
I do hope we have a cool summer like last year, though. I don't like heat and humidity.

It sure is nice to see the grass again, and having a driveway that is not slippery any more. I had an aweful fall last week before the snow started to melt, hurt my elbow really bad, I fell in the oddest way. Now that the snow is all melted my dogs feet are muddy mess all the time, but I will take it because the weather is nice. I am hoping to have at least a little garden this year, I guess I better start planting some seeds.

Hey Grandpa Bob! Wow! You can finally see grass! Now that must
mean for sure that it's almost Spring! I can't imagine that it's
almost planting time for you! And soon it will again be time
for your flowers and veggies! And again I will be jealous and
drooling for all those delicious crops that you will soon have
on your table!lol Today our temps were in the 50's! Hard to believe
that last week we had a blizzard! I can't wait for Spring too!
The only difference is I can't have a beautiful delicious garden
like you can! But, I can live vicariously through yours! I just
wish I could taste vicariously too!

I am soooo ready for my flowers as well.
I have new purple lilies to plant.
Won't flower this year though I think.
Was around 50 here Sunday as well.
Going to be near 50 Monday as well but cloudy.
Then clouds all week and back to sunny and near 50 for the weekend.
Live in my garden as long as you wish.

It has been in the low to mid 40's here all week as well, it has been really nice and like in Minnesota the warmth and sun has also melted off a bunch of our snow and allowed us to see grass. my kids think though that just because the sun is shining and it isn't snow that it is time to get out their bikes and go swimming LOL..we went for a walk today and it felt great but I am trying not to get to caught up into it because I know that we are far from being out of the winter woods so to speak. We usually get weather like this and then right around the beginning of April we get hit with more cold and snowy weather and I am sure mother nature will not fail us this year either.
I do love winter because it allows me to hibernate and just relax a bit but I also hate that it lasts for 9 months so I am absolutely looking forward to spring and summer and getting out into sun and getting some warm weather work done.
