hi. i think , this is the only place where we can have friends ,without the barriers of nationalities. it feels good to recieve friends request from people of other countries. no one feel left out or ignored here. personally, i like it when other than indians, i recieve friends request and others accept my friends request. while making friends , do you prefer people from your country? do you hesitate to make friend request or accept request from other countrymen?

I can't really say, I'd say diverse definitely though, I think I've got a good bit of Canadians as friends, as well as those from the Phillippines and India.

being it is a social networking site the peoples in the discussion era do not confined with in the limit of country boundary.there are not any barrier.people like to talk here.everyone are here friend extending their hands in order to help others. So it is more than these short of trivial thingss.as i am a new comer i may not have number of friends but i would send request whomever i like.

I'm an American and most of my friends are from my own country. At first, I thought it would be great to have friends from other coutries & cultures exchange ideas. But because of the payout here and the different currencey rates, there are people from some countries who just want to make money and post about fifty discussions a day for that purpose. They really could not care less about a cultural exchange. Also, the last election in the US made Americans want to talk more among themselves (sometimes fight among themselves) and people from other nations have a hard time comprehending how fascinated we are with our own poltical dialogue. I guess on the surface that seems shallow, but I actually think it's probably a good thing that Americans are so comsumed with their democracy.

When I receive a request from someone here I go to their profile to see where they are located. I want to be aware of the time difference between us so that I can be aware of when they are likely to be logged on and posting. That is the one and only reason that I need to know and I am very happy to have friends in every continent since joining myLot.
Oh I almost forgot - when I know where they are from and I have worked out the time difference between us, I can also scold them when they are on here instead of being asleep

I have never met any of my mylot friends in person but have probably shared deeper information i would share with any of my real friends. I probably have more friends in real life but i dont just add anybody i come across on here it is usually because i like either there discussions intelligence or feel a good vibe when i am reading there posts. Most of my mylot friends have added me over time and i hope that was for a similar reason.

i believe i have more friends from other countries than from the same country. though i believe that there are lots of members from the philippines. and as mylot population says, we have members than any other countries, coming in third after US and India. http://www.mylot.com/w/usersbylocation/1.aspx

Well I like also diversity, I am foreign myself living in the US and even in real life all my friends are from all over the world, that is the beauty of New York, it is such a diverse place, same here at mylot, in my case I always enjoy learning from others, and I like to expand my horizons culturally talking, so I really don't have any preference, but i show myself welcoming to everybody.

I personally like to receive friends from all over the world especially other than those from my country.I like to know more about the rest of the world which will only come true by being friends to mylot users from different countries and different continents. However,I sometimes feel lonely when I fail to get mylot users from Africa that I may wish to also learn about their country.
Otherwise accepting friends requests and sending friend requests from and to all corners is a sign of non-racism and true friendship.

I have so far accepted all requests and that does not mean that they are all my friends in the real sense of the term. I have yet to interact with anyone here at a level that would qualify that person to be my friend and hope I will do so shortly.
