Have you ever been addicted to a computer game that you play day-in and day out?

.. and still kept on playing?
I have not gone far to that extent! The farthest I went to my computer game addiction is that I skipped meals and sleep late that the usual. But I was never ever hooked to a game in my life that I have to keep on playing and playing and seems that I can't get enough! I never experienced that yet. I may not have discovered a game yet so special that it has to interfere with my daily routine.
How about you? Have you ever been addicted to and what game is that?

Currently, I am addicted to a lot of facebook games - social city, farmville, cafe world. these games just keeps me going and going and sometimes logging -in facebook for this reason rather then checking on my friends' profile and all. it could be a bit relaxing, and enjoyable and stress busting. i just love to play these games!

not really... i don't really like to play computer games anyway... i prefer to watch dramas rather than playing games... i can say that i am quite addicted in watching dramas (korean, taiwanese and sometimes japanese)... but not to the extent until i neglect my daily routines and ruined my life... :-) take care and have a nice day...

hello lingli_78... yes, we all have our own preferences. my older sister prefers to watch tv/ dvd/cd - in marathon, rather than sitting in front of a computer and play games! whatever suits us, as long as it relaxes us, relieves us from daily stress of life, and make us happy! let's go for it!

I once got addicted to the game the sims. I loved that game, I guess just the fact that I could build my own house and control a whole family was interesting for me. I used to play the game all day and even well into the night. My obsession quickly ended when I had my first child. There were no time for games and sleep was way more important.

yeah, i like games a lot too - mostly shooting games. there are a few games that i was very much glued to. medal of honor: allied assault, call of duty, return to castle wolfenstein, project igi, etc. are the games that i've played and finished over and over again. i like the environments of world war 2 very much and so i like games related to it mostly. i haven't skipped meals but i've played for many hours at a stretch, including till very late at night. once i start playing i just don't like giving up!

No, I am not addicted to any computer games, in fact, I didn't know any games in the computer except solitaire.lol!
Sometimes I just play some trivia quizzes, I love this because it increases my knowledge and I can learn lots of things. I often answer trivia quizzes when I am bored and nothing much to do online.

LOL... i think you are missing a lot! hehehehe .... games can be fun! and enjoyable! only, it takes much of our "precious" time. .. well you are right, trivia, quizzes and puzzles are fun too, just the same! it really depends on the person's preference! glad to see you here in my discussions, thanks! :)

Well not really a computer game, but an application at Facebook.
Farmville, who doesn't know what Farmville is? Haha..
I tell you there was one time when i have to stay until 2 am because i was careless to plant something that would wither on the time when I'm supposed to be asleep. And when i was asked i was still up, i answered with no qualms "i have to harvest in one hour". And the person just looked at me like i was going nuts.

hi Ysabel! Yes, I was addicted to a PC game that I've played day and night, all day long , but it was really long time ago, maybe 8-9 years ago, when i took my first PC. I was so excited and there weren't no internet, or at least at home, because it was really expensive. I've taken many games from m friends, but the game which made me addicted to it was the game called "Unreal Tournament 2003"- a shooter game in a real time, with big range of weapons and maps, and several characters. I have played it again last year and have beaten all the levels again, just in the old good time

Yes..i did, Car race. I became so crazy that i skipped my lunch and dinner. My parents found it and stopped me. I really got addicted, as i got through 3 levels and it made so addictive that i should win the final level. Its just the victory of one level creates a craze to go ahead. Say if i havent won first level of race, i will never feel to continue.

IT's a yes for me.. haha =D It was my first game, because i just had a computer for the 1st time, and i was playing the very popular soccer game back then.. hehe ^_^
As such, i was playing whenever i'm home from school, and weekends, from morning till night.. Skipping my meals, or even be eating in front of the computer.. lol =D This continue for about 1 year or so, till i take a break..
BUt when the newer version came out again, it's a cycle again.. lol =D
BUt now, i'm no longer playing games, or addicted to any of them, to such extend.. hehe

I really don't call it an addiction but I am now hooked in Plants vs. Zombies.
Have you heard the game? It is plain and simple a game about plants versus zombies.
You're not stuck with just playing with the fight between plants and zombies. You get to take care of your plants in the Zen Garden. It is just like Farmville in Facebook. The only difference is that I play it offline.
I heard there's an online version of it but I don't like playing online anymore, unless in a safe site like in Facebook.

I think that when I was younger, I sometimes had kind of addictions to different PC games. This especially occurred after I've received my first PC. I received a couple of games shortly after that and got hooked by them! I played Carmageddon 2, Red Alert 2 and Empire Earth back then. These were very exciting games for me, there were lots of different game modes and campaigns, so it took me long to get bored.

Well, along with learning computer languages, I also learned few computer games and solitaire was one of them. I had got so addicted to this game that I could just go on playing it for hours. But slowly, I started diverting my attention towards joining social networking site just to over come this addiction. I am glad to say now it is very rare when I play this game.

There was a time that I was playing solitaire too but not too long. I think there are more games that we can choose from especially if we play online... And you're right, social networking site can be addicted too. =)
Thanks for sharing, vanitasuri! :)
