For the Christians who believe in the Rapture

Many people look forward to the Rapture and are hoping to see it in their lifetimes. For those who do, what leads you to hope and pray for this to occur and soon? Is your own life so hard that you would wish the aftermath on those around you, or do you truly believe that the people of the world in general deserve to suffer and die horribly? I've been trying to wrap my mind around this concept for awhile now. Help me out here.

Look, the biblie is full of this prophecy, Jesus spoke about it and the final days almost all the time, this planet was created perfect and belongs to God but people are so bad, and they doesn't want to do anything with him so they do not decerv to live forever, only the ones who love him, you must remember that God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die in sacrifice, but still nobody wants to accept Jesus in their lifes, do they? and this is because they hate his law, so the time of end is already coming.

I am not asking so much about the notion of living forever as the question of why you believe slaughtering about a billion people -- a third of the earth's population at present -- with plagues, war, pestilence, etc. is a good thing and one to be prayed for that it come sooner. There are indeed people who accept Jesus in their lives -- Christianity is a major religion in this world, after all -- so how is it you believe that the world as a whole hates God and/or Jesus?

Well there are six billion people and just a few of them are cristians, look, a person could say: "I'm a cristian, i believe in Jesus" but after that he is hitting his wife or insulting his neighbor, that things can be forgiven but there are people that goes every sunday to church but doesn't cares about what they do, that's why Jusus himself said:
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
You can read what's next in a biblie, but the thing is that we are seening the signals of the end, plagues, earthcuakes, wars, everything is going dawn, look the History Channel, they are saying it all day ...(well i live on south america)

Hi blummus, This sort of thing has been going on for almost two thousand years, but we live in a natural world where everything happens in divine order. The Rapture is not going to happen, Jesus Christ is not going to return as many Christians believe. Every generation of Christians have been expecting Christ in their lifetime, but the end of this world for all of us will be when we die. Blessings.

it is written:
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

I really don't want to think about the end of the world for that matter. I already suffered enough to last me a lifetime and who can blame me if I don't want to think about it...I just want to enjoy life with my family and do things that I love
and thinking about the disaster would only ruin my peace of mind. I will deal with it when time comes.

Ok. We've been learning about this recently in my church. The Rapture is just when god comes to take his church which is all the people that believe and are saved. Its not until after the church is gone that all the bad stuff will happen. Its wanting to not be here when it happens not wishing it to happen to others. I don't control what happens to them.

I think in some way everyone is tired of the way things are here. What people don't realize is that if they expect something to be changed, it should start with them. One of Jesus' apostles told the people if they wanted to have a better life, they should treat each other well, be kind and loving, forgiving, helping. I believe this was Paul, and he was repeating basically what Jesus said.
Do I believe in a rapture? Yes I do. Do I want it to come now? I would be most happy if it did because it would mean seeing Jesus again, in a more powerful way, and be taken from the Earth which has not relinquished her sins. Do I believe it will happen in my lifetime? I don't believe so, but it's always possible, and I keep looking for more events to tell me these things. I will definitely know when and if I hear that trumpet call. I also believe it is highly positive that it could happen in my life time, and despite it all, I look forward to it.

Rapture is a sign of the times just as Jesus rightly predicted and although it could happen at anytime, the major sign before it happens is that the gospel of the kingdom of God will be preached to all mens' hearing.
After this happens, there will be the rapture. Now rapture will not happen because life is hard for anyone, it will happen because it is in the timing of life to happen and it will happen at anytime. People who pray and hope for the rapture should rather believe in Jesus and do what he said. Watch and Pray.
