About two or so weeks ago I decided to upgrade my Firefox and haven't had any problems until now. I had to shut down then reboot my computer, but when I did somehow ALL my Bookmarks disappeared, there's none, nada, I can't even bookmark anything...Like what the hell happened? Should I uninstall the reinstall? I've been reading the instructions they give in the troubleshooting area and going dizzy trying to figure things out. Now remember folks, I have a Mac computer, so things might be different, but if SOMEONE OUT THERE could give me simple instructions in simple, plain English would really appreciate it
Helllppppppp

That's puzzling, to lose the bookmarks after a Firefox upgrade. But you said you can't even bookmark anything, which is strange after an upgrade. In this case, I think uninstalling the reinstall might be the best bet for now. Or if you can wait, try emailing Firefox team, maybe they have an explanation for this? Perhaps a temporary glitch or so..

It's the Firefox 3.6 version--I just submitted a question about it in their forum...so here's hoping someone there can help me. Nope I've been reading all the troubleshooting info and still can't figure things out and I often like to think I'm a computer geek but this has me stumped and going bananas...LOL

3.6 version? Hmmmm, shouldn't be a problem at all.
Let's hope you get some answers from the forum there. No worries, if you can get through with this, you'll know how the next time something like this happens. Last resort would be to uninstall, I suppose.. if the forum can't give you answers..

All you have to do is shut down your browser then restart it. That happens to me sometimes and I have to do that too. If that doesn't work you should reinstall Fire Fox and that should fix the problem.

Yea i would try reinstalling that and see if that doesn't work. Usually shutting down and restarting help me.

hit response instead of comment but I found the things you need to get your book marks back, go to our mylot search engine type in that firefox bookmarks are missing after upgrade and Mozilla help page pops up and in clear step by step order they say this happens a lot and to follow their instructions and you will get them back. I could not figure out how to remember all these steps or download them into this response so you will have to put what I said into the mylot search engine and it will show you just how to do it you do not have to reinstall it, b ut just follow their steps.

It might be advisable to go ahead and try to renstilling firefox. The browser itself is unstable on windows and yu have a mac. If not try another browser. Sorry you lost your bookmarks though. I'd tell you to back them up for future peace-of mind.

how have u upgrade Ur Firefox? is it from automatic message or u have downloaded the latest version and then upgrade.
if u do first one, then all the bookmarks should be there, as they was. but in the next case u may be lost the bookmarks as per u choice when u upgrade.

I have an IBM and just downloaded this new version of firefox a few minutes ago, but have not restarted my computer yet. I'm wondering now if I should or if I should go ahead and restart and then just delete the new version. I certainly do not want to have problems with anything. It sounds as if many people have had a problem with this new one.

Well I don't have any solutions to recover your lost bookmarks but I do have some advice to you. My bookmarks is very important it keeps all my important sites being able to visit it without remembering its full link name. What I have done to prevent from losing my bookmarks such a scenario like yours is i'm using an add-on of Firefox called Xmarks this functionality saves my bookmarks on a secure server location remotely. With it I can restore my bookmark even I have formatted my hard drive or something goes wrong with my Firefox browser. It is also cross platform add-on it can be installed on IE, Safari and even for Chrome.Just try it i can save a lot of headaches managing bookmarks.
