Have you had a moment that you can't help laughing when you shouldn't?

Yesterday was embarrased. I had class at my tutor's place with another boy yesterday as usual, everything was going well at the beginning. But I really can't help laughing when I saw the weird expression on my boy classmate's face,it was absolutely absurd and I had never seen his this appearrance before. He was absorbed into class and didn't notice this so I started cover up my face by hands coz I was die of laughing at that moment. As soon as my classmate and the teacher realized I was laughing they stoped the class and wondering what makes me laugh like that but I wasn't able to stop it.Oh...it was really hard to hold myself calm down.It seems like my teacher got a little angry so I was really galling about that. But I was wondering how can people hold back laughter after all?I can't solve this sort of issue well often.

When I was younger I found myself laughing (well giggling lol) in church a few times! One time at school the teacher said something which wasnt even all that funny really but I thought it was and burst out laughing. he was not impressed considering she was telling us off at the time! lol

Well, yes, my friend. I had such an experience. When I was in college, there was a foreign teacher from American taught us Language and Culture. In one class, she was telling us something about Abraham( an Old Testament patriarch regarded by Jews as the founder of the Hebrew people through his son Issac and by Muslims as the founder of the Arab peoples through his son Ishmael), she told us that Abraham's wife was called Sarah. At that very moment, I couldn't hold myself and suddenly burst into a wild laughter. You know why? Because this foreign teacher's name is also Sarah. The whole class were staring at me, wondering what's so funny. The teacher probably realized the reason because I saw her blushed a great deal. Later I apologized to her, clarifying there was no malice in my laughter.

I had a situation last night where I couldn't stop laughing, but I really should have stopped! My husband and I were playing withe our niece, but my sister-in-law had to discipline our niece. What she did to get in trouble for was really funny, though, so my hubby and I were trying to stop laughing, but we couldn't! So I had to cover my mouth so she couldn't see my smile and turned my head so no one could hear my laughing. It was SO hard so I know exactly how you feel! It's even harder when you're in class because you can't really turn your head or walk out if that would be awkward. I hope you find a way to not be embarrassed in class, but I know what you mean completely!

I recently had a trouble with hiding my laugh in a quite appropriate situation. Me and my friends were on an official banquet and one person was holding a speech. It seemed to me, that she hadn't prepared herself for a speech and therefore she was very nervous. The lady started her speech, but somewhere in the middle she misspelled the word, creating a word with completely different meaning. The phrase turned out to be really funny because of that mistake and the way that this woman reacted when she realized she had misspelled the word was hilarious too. I started to laugh silently, trying to hide it from other visitors. I think nobody noticed my laugh, but I had lots of trouble with hiding it.

On a few occasions, I've started laughing and found that I couldn't stop. Then, when you get other people laughing too; none of us can stop. In a way, I wish it happened more often. It's fun laughing uncontrollably, at least once in awhile.

You can hold back laughter if you think of other things other than the thing that's making you laugh. This is what I did when we had a game in our school. The rule is simple, don't laugh. I won this game. I was really holding it all inside. I was about to burst so I let myself calm down and think of other things other than my classmates trying to make me laugh to lose the game.

I've experienced that a lot of times. I find so many things funny but not all of my friends notices it. I have to cover my face so I won't be embarassed because I really can't stop laughing. I try to think of sad and painful thoughts but I just can't stop! :D

Yeah, it happen to me when i suddenly remember happy moments that i could not help myself but laugh even if i am alone but I just manage to laugh little since if i laugh loud others may think i am out of my mind. Then if i am with a group of friends we usually tell funny stories where we could relate with each other and all end well as the plot of the stories makes us all laugh eases away boredom.

It happened to me several times too. But what I usually do is to stay away or to seclude myself so that know one would notice me and especially the person that I'm laughing at. More often I would usually excused myself to went to the washroom and there there's no holding back. I laughed and laughed and laughed.

I have experienced that a lot of times. I just can't help myself from laughing no matter how hard I try to. I know that we have to control it to so to not offend the other person who's with you. Am happy in nature and it would surely very hard for me to do so.

It did happen to me several times, most of the times I was at school, we all know that you would probably make the teacher angry if he/she sees you laughing, because always for some reason they think you are making fun of them, it is true hehe but not always, I have a friend that makes everything turn into something funny and he loves to do that when I am supposed to be serious, for example the other day I had to make a payment at the bank and I was talking to an employee and my friend was next to me trying to make laugh, but in that situation I would have only look very rude to start laughing right at his face, but luckly he left for a moment and I could get time to be serious again.
