Are you such a morning person, that even on weekends you still get up early to start your day? Or do you take advantage of your days off to catch a few extra hours of sleep? If you are a morning person and you sleep late on the weekends, does it throw your body clock off? Share your slumber stories.

...Hi there laglen, I can only say that I admire you for being able to get up that early in the morning and know where you are and who you are. "o) I would be totally unbalanced. When you sleep late, does it throw your body into a loop or are you alright with sleeping that long, even for only one day? Thanks so much for your response. Sorry to take so long in responding to you. Bad cold and out of whack computer.

...Hi yugasini. You are good, to be able to sleep like that when you need to. I used to go sleep on a long bus ride sometime, hoping that I would not miss my stop, on my daily commute. I can't remember going pass it. I was taking a big chance though, but it would usually be okay. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, take care.

Left entirely to my own, I would definitely sleep in on weekends. However, I have a young son who wakes me up on Saturdays because he wakes up fairly early himself, and naturally he wants breakfast and he wants to watch his morning cartoons, so he will always wake me up. I don't mind at all!

...Hi DeenaDa, That's called the joy of parenthood."o) Children are special and they only have their parents to keep them company and they require the attention, just as we did when we were little ones. Time goes so fast, so enjoy being with him as I know you do. When he is off to college, you can sleep in. Take care. Sorry to take so long replying to you.

I do sleep in on weekends but I try hard not to sleep in too late. I don't want to sleep in so late that I don't sleep the next night especially if it's on Sunday. I have to worry about getting up early for work the next morning so I try hard to get up early so I can get to bed early.

....Hi highflyingxangel, I have said that it is very important to pay attention to your body. If you are going to sleep very late on Saturday or Sunday, and then need two or three days to get yourself back to feeling like a human being, you are not doing yourself any good. Best to respect your body, as you are doing, so that you can be productive. Thanks so much for your response. Take care.

...Hi there cream, Our lives are only orderly, if we get done what is necessary to get done. Otherwise, things get thrown out of whack and we don't function well. So good for you that you are able to get the things done that you need too. That brings you satisfaction. Thanks so much for your response. Sorry to take so long getting back to you. Computer problems and otherwise. Take care.

Hi! I am a morning person where I always wake up early about 7.30 untill 8.00 a.m.. I would automatically wake up early because I need to go to my class every 8.00 or 9.00 a.m at my college and I love wake up early. However, there are still many of my friends like to wake up late even they know the class is early on the morning. There are many advantage get up early such as I can exercise my study early before go to class, my body feel very fresh and I can bathe in long time than usual. That's because we share two bath room for around 6-8 people. How bad it! So there are many advantage of get up early where I cannot tell you so much because all of you must feel it by self. Have a nice day.

...Hi there hanah87, Good luck to you with your college studies. I certainly don't envy you having to share a bathroom with that many people, you want to have some privacy if you can. If you need to get up early to get things done that need to be done, then that is a good thing. I used to get up at 4:00 a.m. or so, because I had to be at work by 7 a.m. and it was a two hour commute. You have to do what you have to do. Thanks very much for your reply, take care.

On my days off, I might have a nap in the afternoon, but I don't usually sleep in. Otherwise it throws off my whole clock and makes it that much harder to wake up on the days that I do have to wake up early.

....Hi cutepenguin, Your body affects you, like a lot of other people who cannot sleep in late on the weekend and be ready to go on Monday. You have to respect the way your body functions, it does one no good to sleep in for one day and then have to take three days to get back on track. Thanks so much for your response, take good care.

...Hi autumndreamer, You are one of those people who wake up and don't need anything to start your engine."o) Sunshine people I call you, while the rest of us are hiding our eyes from the sun, you guys are basking in the sun and glad to see the morning light. Good for you. I covet the time after 12 midnight, though my mom said I was born at 6:30 a.m. if you can believe it. I love daylight, but function better now in the wee dark hours of the morning. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Sorry for taking so long getting back to you, I have had a very bad cold. Take care.

.....Hi there 1anurag1, Hope you are doing well. You are quite right, we do wait for our weekends to do certain things. It is a time to relax and let your body slow down a little. If you want to get up early, that's your choice, but it is not crucial to jump up and run on the weekends. "o) That's why I loved my Saturdays and Sundays so much. Thanks so much for sharing, take it easy.

It really depends on the weekend to be honest with you. There are some weekends where I have things that need to be done. Therefore, sleep is not an option and I have to get up early to get ahead of the schedule, unless of course I want to be left behind. Quite frankly, that is something that no one really wants and thus weekend or week day, there are times I get up early. As of late, I have been lucky I suppose. I have had the luxury to be able to sleep in on the weekends, which is rather nice as far as I am concerned. It can be a bit off setting on the weekends, but as long as I go to sleep and am ready on Monday(or what passes for being ready on Monday), then I should be more then okay and raring to go.

...Hi megamatt, A weekend without a schedule every now and then, can be a treat for the bones. Things that have to be done are just that, things that have to be taken care of. The nice thing about an unchartered weekend is that you can call the shots, go, stay, whatever. Everybody needs a little freedom to fly or leave the plane in the hangar. Thanks so much for your response, sorry about the time lag, computer problems and a bad cold. Take care.

....Hi lylisal, Welcome to the club, there is nothing like a good sound sleep to make you feel like you could run a marathon or maybe jog a little "o). Weekends were the time when sleeping in took precedence for me, nothing like having nothing to do for a while. Gives your body time to recoup. Thanks very much for taking the time to reply, take care.

i don't get early on weekends. I relax or sleep all day. I don't like the weekends too much because I get lazy and stay in bed the whole time, but on the other hand they are days I can relax and be comfortable at home and when i am not lazy I go out and party all day ot watch a movie or just go on a loong coffe break with my friends because I do not have so much time during the week. It is just awesome having a free weekend.

It will make you lazy, but a little laziness never hurt anyone. Especially when you are running all week long "o). Thanks very much for your response. I usually sleep over 2 hours than the usual if it is weekend. For me it is the time I don't have to think that i need to wake up early. But if it Sunday, it is different because i always go to church. And I agree that on my first day I usually feel sleepy because of the body clock adjustment. God bless

...Hi there scja16, I think that happens to us because we are coming off our busy week and our body sort of collapses and soaks in the leisure time on the weekend. Then Monday rolls around and it's back to the races again. I remember once, having to go to the hospital for something, and my first day there, I could feel my body slowing down, trying to rest. We don't realize how we move around all the time, going here, going there, until we come to a stand still. So we must remember to give ourselves a vacation every now and then to destress. Take it easy, thanks for your response.

Most of the time, I get up at the usual time as I usually go to bed early at night. Even if I get up early in the morning on weekends, I still feel refreshed and enegetic. On the contrary, if I sleep for too long time, I will feel dizzy and sleepy for a whole day. If it happens that I went to bed late the previous night, I may sleep a little on weekends.

I love sleeping in on weekends! I however have not done so in 6 months since my son was born because he always wakes up at 6. I never would have thought that I would be up at 6 everyday and not be in a bad mood about it. Having kids changes you in ways you would never expect! I'm sure when he gets older and can entertain himself or sleep in later, I will get back to sleeping in and it will be fabulous...

...Hi harmonee, I am sure you are having such a great time with your newborn, that other things are secondary. Which is how it should be. Enjoy. Children grow so fast, he'll be walking, running, and then driving in no time at all "o). Savor the moments. Weekends were like mini vacations every week, when I was working. Nothing like waking up on Saturday and discovering it was a day when you didn't have to jump up and get out. Thanks so much for your reply. Give that little one a hug for me, babies are special. Take care.

I can say I'm a morning person in weekends, its already my body clock... for years, that i've been waking up at 6:00- 6:30 in the morning, its already like my constitution, even though there's no classes or anything, i would really wake up at that time.. i even sleep late at night(thanks for a special person who always reminds me to sleep early that i dont go beyond 12 midnight..lol)... so its a bit tiring, but when u get used to it, its nothing...lol..:D Have a nice day!

....Hi fheroan, What matters is that you know your body, and what helps you the most to function. Sometimes you might have to stop and take a mini nap, willing yourself to wake up if you have to do something that is necessary. Once I had a job where I had to be at work at 7 a.m., so sometime during my workday, I would try to take a little nap and wake up in ten minutes or so. It worked for me without falling asleep for 2 hours and getting in trouble."o). Thanks for your response. Take care.

I am not a morning person and as such, weekends are my favorite days as I can woke up as late as 10am. If it's not for work, I cannot wake up early. Even in the afternoon, I can take a nap if there's an opportunity. I think I get that from my mother who also loves to sleep every now & then. I can even take a nap when travelling even if it's as short as 30 mins.

...Hi joy_evaldez, I think that it is a very good thing if you can fall asleep like that. It helps to keep you going. I think the term for it, if I am correct is "power naps". So if you can fall asleep on a moment's notice, then you are doing yourself very much good, so keep it up. When I was working, weekends were my favorite time of the week, just because I didn't have to worry about getting up early, beautiful it was. "o) Thanks very much for your response, take care.

Yah, power nap it is. But sometimes it is because I am too tired of days worked thus, I tend to fall asleep on the way home. I cannot rest after I reached home as I still have one toddler to look after and play with until bedtime. Really, your life will change if you've have a family of your own. Even if I am on my two years of being married, I can say that I am still adjusting for some of my practices and habits that I had when I am single. But I will never regret being a mother to a wonder ful kid and a wife to my loving and wonderful husband.

...Hi again joy, What a beautiful statement, you are blessed. Not everyone can say what you have said. I don't have any children, but I understand that it is one of the greatest things in your life, once you have a child. You must make sure you eat well and take vitamins. Especially time released iron pills, if your system is low on iron, you tend to be lethargic and sleepy, it could lead to anemia. Take good care of yourself.

..Hi besthope44, Weekends! It is just a great feeling to be free to do what you want to do, when you want to It is one of life's pleasures. We get so caught up in being on time and adhering to schedules, it's no wonder they call a rat race. It's also why we need vacations, to slow ourselves down for a while. Most people are like you, I would think. I can remember Mondays being a hard day as well and then getting back to earth after a good sleep on Monday night. Take care and thanks for sharing.

I consider my self as a morning person beacuse whatever tasks or job I do that makes me sleep super late I still wake up early in the morning but after joining Mylot I seem to have difficulty waking up early in the morning. There is something with mylot that I think is unexlainable with my case. Or maybe is it just that my eyes were too tired of having these sorts of discussions?

...Hi sunkernjs, With mylot you have probably been using your creative brain cells much more now, than you have in the past. Also you like writing on mylot and your brain is probably anxious to get back to participating in the discussions daily. You therefore are exhausting your brain with the subject matter and need to rest much more in the morning. Thanks so much for your response, take care.
