I have a funny story to share related to this topic. While buying some goods in the market, a girl with an unfamiliar face approached me and mentioned my full name. I didn't know how to react especially when she was about to embrace me with fondness. She was comfortable exchanging dialogues with me so, I opted to go with the flow. I tried to recall even a single thing that would connect her to my past but my mind did not participate. To avoid causing disappointment, the idea that popped into my head was not mentioned by my tongue. For not being able to ask her real name, I remained clueless until we met again. She was with a companion at that time and I joined their conversation in order to hear how the other person would call her. It's so ridiculuous to remember that we were even seatmates during elementary days and had fought over a missing pencil..Haha!

I think she really excited to see you because she's been thinking over the years of the incident of the missing pencil! Just kidding... I always have contact with some close friends from grade school, high school and college. But some of them I can't recall the surname but still know by their first name.
I also have an experience like. Seeing a former schoolmate who knows me but I really can't recall where I met him/her. I just smile back, but I keep on thinking who that person is. Yet I'm thankful that she remembers me.

hi eloveriz,
That is very a funny thing. I cannot remember all my former classmates except for those who are closed with me. Sometimes, there are some persons who will smile on me or call my names but I cannot remember their names. But their face are familiar and I know they were my classmates before. And one time I was riding on a jeep, someone paid my fare on the driver. Then he talked with me. We are not classmates. He is just one of my batchmates but it is so nice of him to chat with me.

I also lost contact with my former friends and classmates. It's good to be active in any social sites, by doing so, we get to find some people we knew in the past.

Ha ha! Yes, remembering all our former classmates by their names is often hard especially when we get to see them face to face, it's an awkward situation.

How could I forget them? I mean most of them were terrible people and I do not remember them with much good in my heart, but there were some pretty funny moments when all negative is put to the side. I also keep contact with a few of my old classmates, it's not like we lost touch. I love being with my friends and spend some quality time

I do experienced quiet the same scenario as yours. I don't know but I feel I had a problem remembering names though I can recognize them by face but my mind too most of the time won't participate even how hard I tried just to remember them. I think I need memory enhancer.

Ha ha! Should we drink some prescribed tablets to enhance our memory? If needed, why not. Hello there! thanks for your participation here.

We all have many friends since our childhood. As we live our lives, new memories add into the memory lane causing the old memory out of reach. The old memories are not forgotten but must have catalysts to remember.
For me, I still remember most of my old friends. It's hard for me to forget my friends cause I use photographic memory to memorize them. What I forget is what I don't give enough attention to remember.
Thank you.

It's easy to remember old friends if we have taken pictures of them. Most of those people who gave me copies of their photos were my close friends so, I always remember them. It's good to reminisce the past by viewing some old pictures compiled in an album.

I don't remember a lot of their names. I might recognize the face and not be able to put a name to it. I was shy in school and had a few close friends and we kept to ourselves. We had a large class, and even if I had been more outgoing, I don't think I could remember them. My friend remembers a lot more people from school than I do! I am better with faces and she is better with names, so between the two of us we might remember someone.

Yes, I came across few individuals while riding on vehicles, walking along the road without remembering I've already met them long time ago. Their faces and body shapes changed a lot. But I'm glad they still recognize me, it's simply because I look just the same as before ha ha!

Yes, I also felt guilty for not being able to remember my friend. Maybe she'd think I never kept our memories together in my heart. I might be having memory gap he he.

Yes I do. I wish I was still in high school sometimes. I think I had so many good experiences there. I still remember a friend that was very nice to me. We would usually help each other with our homework and she was simply a really nice person to talk to. She knew what she wanted in life and used to encourage me to do the same. Sucks that I don't see her anymore because she's currently studying in another state.

High school life is truly unforgettable. There were few people I'd like to meet again but time did not allow. I also wish you'll see your friend some other place & time.

I can remember most of my classmates in grade school and high school. But it's funny coz I enrolled in a vocational course after college, and I now cannot remember the names of my classmates there. But then, it's because we were together for like, only half day, 3x a week, and for only three months.

We hardly remember people we're not so close with. But those who became special part of our lives are hardly forgotten.

No, I do not remember all my of classmates. I feel that I remember a lot of them but definitely not all of them, especially if I did not communicate with them back then. Some people still look the same as they did in school and some look completely different and would not recognize them. Some of them remember me which surprises me. It is embarrassing to not remember people but they remember me. I was very quiet and shy back then. It is very nice to run into people from my school days as the ones I have run into I got along well with in school.

i remember few of them by complete name but most of them are just by face thats why i just smile back to them pretending i really know their name, i know its not fair but maybe because i only have limited memory when it come to remembering name specially if im not that close to them in school. but if its my enemy then of course i will never forget their name.

That's a very refreshing experience! I still remembered walking to the receptionist and talking to her about opening an account and after I passed her my id card, she suddenly tells me if I remembered her.
We were in a conversation for the procedure of opening account for like almost 20 mins and her question cause me to be lost. I can't remember, not even when she told me things such as the school that I went to, the class I was in and the bunch of friends whom I hang out with.
And even till now, I still have yet to remember about her existence but I covered it up well at that day I met her at the bank because she mentioned she is always with another friend whenever I met the two of them and so I said some bits and pieces to avoid any further embarrassment.

That situation also happen to me, I often don't remember my friend especially my elementary school friend, their face change a lot. if high school friend I still remember their face but often I forget their name, the best way to remember they name is, if you go with friend or family Introduce them to your former classmate from there you can know their name.
