What Are Your Favourite "Little" Surprises?

I'll be sitting here studying, or working on my computer, and my husband will bring me a glass of Sljivovica. The other day, I was sitting here arguing with a customer service rep on the phone, and he brought me a cup of freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee. I love little things like that, even more than big extravagent surprises. I love the little thoughtful everyday things. What are your favourite little surprises?

I love when Steve thinks of me and brings me home chocolate....which might be again soon since I just finished up the huge box of chocolates he got me for Valentine's day. I've been going slow on eating them and look, they lasted a whole month! Marsha

I like receiving houseplants, because he thinks they are neat. I always have coffee ready, and often get it served to me in bed. Consideration is really wonderful and so easy to give, but greatly appreciated. Like fixing a meal for me, or making sure I am comfortable, really thoughtful and makes me feel cared for.

Hi, you are lucky woman with a lovable husband. I'm also satisfied with my wife. When she comes behind me and put her two hands on my shoulders I feel her love. Feelings have no definition. By the by how can I address you in short?

When I'm not in good mood and something went wrong my husband will bought a local chocolate or candy bars. He knows that I would be a little surprise for me because he know that I love it and would give me a big smile.

One of the little things I like is I can be working away on my PC and my flatmate will come in and she will hand me a candy or something that I've not had in ages as a treat, something so very simple...but amazing!

Sometimes I'll get into my car, and I'll notice my gas tank is full. My dad sometimes takes my keys when I'm at my parent's house, and while I'm busy he'll go and fill up my gas tank. It's so sweet, and so appreciated!

I don't like surprises. I love it when my guy says I love you. It was a surprise when he said it the First time! Does this count?

My younger daughter always brings some small gifts and chocolates and does not give immediately. Whenever I am in front of the computer or doing any serious work, at that time she will come to me with her closed fists and asks 'which one'. Whatever fist I touch, she will give that hand's chocolate or gift and says enjoy mum. I simply love that gesture of affection and concern for me. Whenever I go outside and come back, I feel very tired. My husband makes good coffee for me and keeps it ready. When I start talking about the errand, he will say, 'first have coffee and then we will talk'. This gesture of concern of my husband also is my favourite.

I don't get many surprises from my husband. What does make me feel good are the innocent moments when my daughter comes up to give me a hug or my son will say "I love you mommy" out of the blue.

hi danishcanadian your user name always makes me hungry. he he. sorry had to tease a bit. I am a widow and a resident in this tiresome retirement center. I have a very sweet kindly tablemate here named Perla who is a filipino lady. she is always bringing to our table little coffee caramels and thrusting them into my hand., we are both diabetics. She is so generous and gives us , us meaning emily and I her co tablemates little presents. You are so right, its the little things that make us happy, Like Emily my other table mate often has two cups of coffee a nd sometimes she insists on my taking the other cup of coffee, she knows I am also an avid coffee drinker, specially in the mornings. My husband was always one for doing little everyday things too.He often had dinner ready when I got home from the library where I often worked part time in pieces, some hours in the morning some in late afternoons. so he had supper ready when I got home at times. He was an excellent cook and was partly handicapped when I went to work as a page in the library.

Who does not like to have surprises. I too like a few surprises like these: 1)A good pack of cookies. 2)Being served a hot tea cup when I wake up. 3)A nice dress- especially with some good floral prints. 4)A Nice teddy bear (childish!! yet I still like that !!). Have a nice time ahead.

I like the little things too, the cups of coffee and the other little things that show he really is paying attention, that he truly knows who I am and what I appreciate. Finding that my car has been fueled so I don't have to get out in the cold and pump gas, having the guy from the garage come pick up my car and change the oil when it's time. Throwing in a load of laundry when he empties the dryer of his work clothes. Most of all, that after 20 years, he's still doing it.
