I’d like to take a moment to introduce a new member of MyLot. She is a very good friend of mine and she is really looking forward to getting started. She’s started a few discussions to get her feet wet and has a little fist full of friends to start her off. So, help show her the ropes, give her your time-honored advice and get to know her. Her id is mimama5 and here is her profile link http://www.mylot.com/mimama5.
Have you ever referred a friend to MyLot? Do you give them an introduction or just let them flounder their way around? Do you remember when you first started on MyLot?

I don't think I've introduced anyone on here. I do remember when I first started, there were more, good quality discussions than there are now and it was much easier to navigate.

I am glad to welcome your friend to my lot. I have went to her profile and asked that she add me as a friend. She has a beautiful baby pictured in her avatar.
I just know she will love it here as we all do.

Welcome, mimama5!
I referred a couple friends in the past but they never did anything more than join, not even set up their profile.

I think that is a common problem on here. I figure everyone has their own tastes and some may not like MyLot. Another thing is that some ppl expect to join a site and have dollar bills start shooting out of their CPU...not going to happen.

Well, I went and checked out her profile and added her as a friend. I am sure we will have some discussions off and on she should enjoy. The more good ones the merrier. Hope her stay will be long and fun filled.

I have referred many ppl to MyLot but the one associate that did tell me he joined did not join under me & he never told me his user name so I couldn't introduce him-he just told me shortly after that he wasn't impressed w/ the compensation & I told him you're on other social networks for free this is why MyLot is better you get compensated for participation. I don't know if he ever came back b/c I never asked him it sorta p'd me off the way he was talking about MyLot. Other than that I think when we do get ref's in our downline an introduction is a great idea-I'm sorry I have never done that but I will take your que & do this from now on.

I've had the same problem. I referred someone and they joined, and then seemed to think that dollar bills were going to start shooting out of their CPU. It doesn't work that way and I always tell everyone that joins with me that your not going to get rich off here...it's just for fun and the little bit you make is like treat money.

Hi, twoey68. I welcome her with the most utmost appreciation. I have also sent her a friend request so that she can have me added as a friend. I have referred someone through myLot, before but she never takes heed of the request at all. She accepted it and signed up for myLot but she never posted anything. This was a year ago when we met. It was back in 2008. I have her email address as my contact. And I will try to contact her as soon as possible. I wished that she would just post so that I can communicate with her. But she has never been active at all. I did give her an introduction to myLot, but she just chose to sign up without posting. Cheers to you on welcoming your new friend, and our friend, mimama5!

No, I never have referred any of my friends because I don't know if they would be interested or not. I have a niece in Tennessee I communicate with through email sometimes. She told me one time that she got a lot of junk email all the time and she just prefers to receive personal messages. I just wouldn't care to refer them unless they say it's all right and if they really are interested. I will add your friend to my friends list, though. Kathy.

I don't really refer anyone unless they ask me about it. My Mom joined but never comes on, one of my brothers joined but rarely comes to the site, another brother insists it's a site full of whiners, my cousin joined but only stayed for a couple of months and now my friend has joined...I think she'll like it here too.

Welcome to mimama5! Yes I do welcome new lotters that I meet along the way. I remember when I was still a newbie in here 6 months ago, I don't know where to start. LOL Thank goodness there are cool people who guided me and makes my mylot experience all worth while.
By the way I will visit her page in a bit. Thanks for introducing her to us.
Happy Lotting!

Hi mimama5, welcome to MyLotland.
I remember when I joined here, very nervous and unsure of myself but I soon got the hang of it with help from friends here.

Friends are a great way to learn the ropes...that and watching what others do. I remember when I first started here, I was also nervous and unsure of what to do...I soon got over it though.

Hi twoey. Nah, I never referred a friend, I only referred my husband! LOL I didn't bother to give him a proper introduction though. I didn't see the point as he's not really interested in this site anyway. Well, other than the stuff I point out to him from time to time, but even then he's only interested in reading it not actually getting involved. However, I still feel more comfortable with him having his own account rather than checking with mine just in case he ever changes his mind and decides he wants to start posting. I wouldn't want anyone to mistake him for me, after all!
Oh, and yes, I do remember when I first started. I felt so out of place back then.
Happy mylotting!
PS I've requested your friend as a friend!

Welcome to MyLot, mimama5, and rest assured that twoey68 will not leave you to flounder your way around! MyLot can be a bit cumbersome and intimidating at first, but a vast majority of the members here are friendly and helpful.
There is a lot of good information that myLot members share with one another and some of their advice is worth much more than the pennies we earn from our discussions. On the other hand, those pennies add up, and it is fun to get paid something for doing what we would probably be doing anyway!

Hi Twoey. Let me say WELCOME to the new mylotter here and I will do so personally as well. I referred only one friend to mylot and yes, well no, I did not leave her to flounder around.
I was pretty new here myself and so we were both sorta floundering around with me being the most interested, excited and committed. Eventually she called it quits.
I can not remember exactly when I started mylotting. I cant even say how long I have been here now.

How nice of you to welcome her here. :)
*sigh* I never had this kind of treatment when I first started using, but that may be because I wasn't referred by anyone and I never had any friends using this website during that time.
Anyway, welcome to the wonderful world of MyLot mimama5!
