Oh Great!

I've been lucky and always had phone service, unless bad weather messed up lines. But i'm in my 50's and i'm surely spoiled to cell phones. But i sure don't believe in using cell phones while driving. I really get angry seeing people slow traffic down talking on phone.It is almost as bad as women putting makeup while driving...lol..So, let us make petitions against driving with cell phones in your State.

Four days about two years ago. The electricity went out during a really big ice storm. So I had no power for 4 days.

well, for several years I was without a phone because I couldn't afford one. but this was the 1970's...

I only have a cell phone. I did not bother getting a house phone when I moved into this house. Before we lived here we were without phone for 1 day when they were grating the road(we lived on a gravel road) and they hit our phone line. We were almost without a phone for about a day and a half when the power went out another time because I forgot we had a phone other than a cordless one.

I know that is very aggravating or it would be to me. I like everything working around here, lol.Hope they get it fixed real soon.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, Hubby and I have both cell phones but I never like to have one but when I was working it was a must, so since then I have had one, we also have landline but we only had to wait one day a few years back when the phone was out. Tamara

i'm so sorry to hear about this grandpa bob... hopefully you will be able to get your telephone connection soon... i am fortunate because i never have to experience having no phone connection... it is always good here... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

A couple of months, but it was of my own accord. I didn't get a phone right away when I moved out on my own.

um..we were down a week in the 1970's from a blackout (NOT the '65 blackout,it was a storm)..it was kind of peaceful actually.not constantly ringing.

Two years ago when the winds of Hurricane Ike roared through Ohio, I was without a phone for 2 days. I didn't miss it. Nobody ever calls me except my sons and they called me on my cell phone, which nobody every calls, either. I only have it for emergencies, it's a basic talk and call phone with no fancy extras for $15 a month.

hi grandpa Bob oh I could hug you as I thought I was the only one left in the US who did not have at least one cell phone and wander around showing off how popular they are bye talking loudly so all can hear your conversation.lol.Its the pits when ones landline phone goes out of service but have been lucky and have not had that happen to me. today was my day to get wrong numbers. whoever had this number before must have been one popular person, and then I got one for a Stan stevenson from a finance co. and the canned message was kind enough to state if you are not Stan Stevenson please hang up. well thank goodness it was not a finance company calling me so sure I hung up really quick then I got one from someone saying he was calling from the p olice benevolent fund and I really turned him off. I said, if you insist on bothering me I want your name and address as the police in Garden GRove announced in the paper they have no fund Called Police Benevolent Fund. the guy hung up on me. Wonder why? he he h e.

I think it was close to a week after we moved. We had cell phones though.

I think the longest ive been without is when i moved apartments and it was 2 days. However...if you mean landline phone service...I cancelled mine back in August and have only been using my cell phone since. I thought it silly to pay two bills esp when im rarely at my own home to answer the landline. I'm much more contactable for work and other things with my cell.

the longest time I was without a phone service was two months back when my phone just fell from a bus I was traveling with.I only realized this when I was in my final destination and I Could not have any where to start searching for my phone.I had to remain offline for over a month not until I got a new one.thank God.
