Do you mind if I reply to your response to my discussion, a year after?

I am just checking out on my profile, my best responses, and my started discussions and I notice two topics which there are plenty of responses but I only get to reply to some of them.
Now I want to reply to them, but I am wondering if they care if I replied to them a year after? It was my discussion, but I felt bad now that I have not replied to them at that time.
What do you fellow mylotters think? Should I reply? I really want to. Or, just let it be?

Hi Ysabel,
I do not mind to receive a late reply on my response because usually I already forgot about that discussion after a while. There are a lot more discussion that I need to look to and missing one or two comment from my responses would bring no harm. But to received it after a year might weird but if I could comment it back I would reply it. otherwise I just leave it.
Due to some restriction, I do sometimes can not leave a comment on all my responses. Not until a year (since I been here less then a year ) but it still long enough. Usually I will look if that discussion is still relevant. But it is still relevant, I will leave my comment. If not, I just leave it like that.

Hello akuler, the discussions i was referring to are non-seasonal ones. the topics are very generic and still apply today (even after a year after). its a relief to know that I am not the only one guilty of not replying to all comments. does that mean you are selective in your responses? i try to respond to all of them but i just can't so now that i have extra time, i am doing it so willingly. :)

I do comment on all my responses. The one I mention above is about football things. Just after I comment my first responder, I lost my internet connection and I need to leave town where there is no internet connection available. I can not log-in to myLot and if I do (I need to go to the near town to have an internet connection), I did not really have a time to participate in the discussion. I just log-in to make sure that my balance was not fortified by myLot.
When I get back my internet connection, after about 4 months, I did not think my comment on the discussion is no longer needed as we already knew the result. I just leave it like that.

There is nothing wrong with commenting later and late is always better than never. It often happens that new users who joined later will then respond on your older disussion because it becomes visible again.
You will earn for typing those comments so I say go for it. I often add a comment on my older ones just to get them back on the limelight again - and it works

Ysabel,
A year late?
By now, some of the members are not around anymore, unbeknown to you but it is really your choice.
But, on the hindsight, I feel you should be up to date with your current posts and stop procrastinating like before.
Have a nice day.

dear skysuccess, you are right. the mylotters who responded at that time are no longer active which i proved by randomly checking their profiles. which is just bad for me, i am so guilty in procastinating on making the replies. gosh! i am terribly sorry, i think this is just rude. so I am making-up, as much as i can now. :)

well, i started a discussion about not replying to comments yesterday. And almost all commented that if you leave a comment hanging then it's rude. but i don't know if they will see you respond back then maybe that's a start of another conversation. maybe if you left that discussion hanging then it might get revived.

That very often does happen. I have commented on responses on my very old discussions and then they reappear in the similar topics column on the right ---
and in 'recent' and often receive new responses.
There are users who joined after the discussion was started and never got to see it and they often respond and it gets a new lease of life

It's perfect! It means that we can continue commenting and don't have to rack our brains to find a new topic for another discussion
I didn't receive a notifier for your comment umpffff!

If you really want to reply then you can,but the only problem with you replying to them is that some of the people you reply to may have left this site long ago. However i do think that it is a nice thing todo aswell as that way you will know that you have done the replys.I had someone reply to one of mine from 6months ago so perhaps there are alot of people going to old discussions.

yo know ysabel, sometime i feel guilty of doing so, i reply to them so late sometimes, especially when i get so many responses..
an year later? lol.. well i have had some of my respondents waiting for more than 5 months, honestly i don't want to do that most of the time, so i wish i don't get so many responses that would make me lazy to reply to each of them, i can't help it but i do reply to almost all of them, but yeah an year a pretty long time don't you think.?
even i have to reply to all of them but :(
anyways.. have a nice day ysabel..

hello.. i did try to reply and i am getting positive feedback. of course most of the respondents are no longer active (too bad!)... but there are new responses, which is just great! the topic was not season, it can still be applicable today, so the year ago factor was not major (i think).
thanks for the response! i really felt guilty that's why I want to make it up and reply to all of them.. even in a very slow pace. at least, i did reply. and the effort is there.

Hi Ysabel,
I don't mind friend. i will feel honored if you will respond on my discussion a year ago. i know you exerted effort to browse my profile and go through my discussion. that for me is something that someone is interested in my discussions even if it's a year ago already.

if you can find the time then do so. Although it's proper to respond to your discussions the soonest possible time. There are things that can't be avoided for not doing so. besides it's never too late. I won't take it against anyone if it took so long for them to respond to my discussions. As the saying goes...better late than never.

Hi friend,
its always better to comment on responses received on your discussions, within reasonable time say 2-3 days, or at the most say one week.
I selected time frame based on my likings, because up to a week i check what has been said on discussions started by me. After that I may not check.
But Every one, who have subscribed for notification for comments will come to know that you have commented, so if they are interested they can read.
You can do with willingness, if its ok for you that it may go un-read.

hello friend common_man, yes, i am just taking the risk of my responses no longer checked or read since its dealyed. though i am still replying just the same to be able to complete all. i just felt i have to, regardless how delay it is. anyway, my topic is not seasonal, and it still applies now. thanks for the encouragement, i will still do the same. :)

Hi Ysabel,
you are right. we reply many times late. Mylot send notification, when reply is received on our discussions, so there is a probability, good enough, that late responses may also be read and commented. Besides we get satisfaction, that we expressed our views.
Happy myLotting.

i don't really mind... for me, being late is still better than nothing at all... i try to understand the person from other point's of view... may be the person is busy or something happened in his/her life that make him/her to reply to my response so late... i am guilty of doing that sometimes as well when i am really busy and tired... so to me, it is OK... take care and have a nice day...

At first I might not recognize if you have added comment to my response but if I get to know that you have not done it with intention then I would mind it. If it has been done due to some problem from your side then it is alright.
What? How would I know if you have ignored my response, by looking at the later responses for the same discussion!

hello ysabel. i really do'nt mind. in fact i would really appreciate it . that you reply. regardless of how long or how old the topic it would still be. i don't mind, go ahead and reply! who knows, it would still be my reply. LOL

If it's only gonna give you self fulfillment to reply, then by all means do so. I'm not sure how will they react when they see that your reply is a year delayed LoL. But if I were one of them and I happen to still subscribe to mylot, I'd be able to read your post and still be thrilled about it. I love it when the author of the discussion gives responses to my comments - so long as it makes sense. oR even if it doesn't make sense, I guess I can still appreciate the fact that I got a reply.

though i havent been here in mylot for a year, i can still say that i have the same problem as yours. i have had a lot of discussions that i couldnt really keep up with. they get tons of responses that it really gets impossible for me to go over all of them. personally, i wouldnt really mind if someone comments on my responses after a long, long time. i guess it's really better late than never. i think doing that will also kind of make your topic alive again and it will show up on te lists again so you might get some more responses. :D
