My boyfriend has a pimple prone skin, and every time i see a big red pimple on his face, i would always ask him if i could pop it. sometimes he complains, but, most of the time he doesn't coz he likes it too.
Some people say, pressing on a pimple makes the infection go back but, i just can't resist but to pop it. ;)
I also heard that you could first stick a needle on it then pop it. What do you think guys???

I think no as long as the whiteheads will come out. For if you go to dermatologist and have a facial, they would still remove that or pop that out. No you dont need a needle to pop it out..

Um, like ewwww....OK first of all, there is bacteria in the pimple. By popping it, you are spreading the bacteria. By popping it, not only have you damaged the skin, which can lead to a scar, especially with acne, but you are spreading the infection to the surrounding hair follicles. You are going to make your bf look like Edward Scissorhands if you keep it up....
By yourself something with salysilic acid or Benzoyl peroxide already.

"Clean&Clear" makes a great product with salysilic acid that is clear and goes on any pimple or acne. I have acne occasionally on my back, and even though I don't pop them, I have scars on my back. I like this product because it goes on clear and doesn't stain clothes like Benzoyl Peroxide.

LOL for your comment at the top!!! ;)
my boyfriends skin is oily yet so sensitive, he doesn't use anything but mild soap to clean it. Sometimes, even the mildest soap could still cause pimples. So most of the time, he just wash his face with water, or uses wipes to clean it.
also, he's scared of trying products for they might make it worse. :|

you're really better off cleaning the skin and treating it.
depending on the size of the pimple,it could leave a scar on the skin.
he might want to see a dermatologist if his skin is really bad.

As most of Mylotters say here, yes they are right. Popping or squeezing a pimple or zit is really bad. It will spread the bacteria and it will infect the skin because of the open wound.
Imagine letting out a puss, eww right but I am also guilty of this when I feel so annoyed over the zit that i have on my face. Now I don't because I have learned my lessons well.
Try not to touch the face and keep it clean by washing the face. Your bf should also consider changing his pillow case much more often. And go see a dermatologist for proper medication about his pimples. Please don't use needles, you are not a witch aren't you? Happy Mylotting.

Not bad as long as you know how to pop,the worse will be if the whiteheads won't come out.And it will lead to infections.
Be sure you have wash your hand before popping it up..And better used tissue to cover the pimples when you intend to pop it..
Happy myLotting!

I have seen a news event in the television, they featured a man with-out nose and cheek. As per the person, it started when he pop-out some pimples in his nose. It got infected and the infection scattered to his cheeks. The only remedy for him to live is to cut his nose and a portion of his face. Hope you and your boyfriend will stop popping -out his pimples, go to a professional dermatology. Imagine your boyfriend or your husband with-out nose and cheeks. Do you like it to happen?

I know that I should not, but I often do and that is because I feel like I can help but pop it. I do my best to keep my face clean with Neutrogena and with face care items, but my skin is naturally oily. When it is that time of the month, that is when my acne is at it's absolute worst! No matter how hard I try to get rid of my pimples, they keep coming back. It seems almost impossible to get rid of my acne.

Hi annegellove :),
My mom always reminds me not to pop pimples because of it's negative effect. It can cause you deep scar on your face and rough skin. It can also lead into infection and irritation. I think the best way to do with those is to have a regular facial care because dermatologist know the best and proper ways to eliminate those pimples. :)

I think you could do this in proper manner without hurting your boyfriend face by let him do it the pop out with needle. It's okay to do that without infecting it.

Well thats true poping pimples will cause the puss to spread over the face and will it cause infection and helps in development of too many pimples on his face. So dont do it for fun too.

Back when I also had lots of pimples, I popped them and immediately washed my face with a solution containing salycitic acid (generally products that are labeled to help against acne have this within the ingredients list). Doing that really did help my face to clear up.

popping may help in removing bacteria but it gives you an uneven surface which you would hate later.
the main reason for pimples is the bacteria (acne vulgaris),this bacteria gets multiplied like 10 becomes 100 ,100 becomes 1000 and so on it spreads total face
if you have dry skin then this bacteria cant live in dry skin areas
if you have oily skin this bacteria starts increasing its kingdom oil acts as a food to bacteris
so finally there are only two ways to stop the pimples
kill the bacteria or stop the production of oil
you cant stop the oil production its coded in your genes whereas you can kill the bacteria ,so kill that frustrating bacteria ,popping doesnt solves your problem but increases your problem
live happily

Yeah, it is bad because when you pop the pimple, it will leave a little mark on the face but it depends, and sometimes this marks don't go and stay forever on the face...
It is better to let them go by themself, patience! And it is his pimples so let him do what he wants. ^^

I experienced having a big red pimple at the tip of my nose and fortunately I have a friend who is a doctor and he told me not to touch it like do any pricking or popping out, he advised me to wash it with clean water only. I followed his advise and I never had that pimple anymore.
