credit card or debit card?

It is a dilemma, and I just don't know how should I use my debit card, and at what situation I should use it. Since many articles advise not to use debit card on big bucks items, or "pay it now, delivery late" type of items. I just afraid to use my debit card in the stores again like I use to. Debit cards directly linked to your checking account; and there are a few protections on your debit cards. While credit cards have dispute protection to help protect the card users. So, what do you prefer, a credit card or debit card?

I use my debit card, I try not to use my credit and we are working hard to pay them down. You can dispute with your financial institution on your debit card as well.

really? I don't think you can really dispute with them, especially with those big banks. They would simply ignore your request, since their customer service is really no help. They might even charge your fee if you overdraft your checking account.

A credit card would be more safe since if it gets stolen it would only be used up to the limit but with a debit card if that information is stolen, then the thieves would have access to your bank accounts. Still, I prefer using a debit card. I only use it where I think it would be safe like on big websites that is secure like Half.com and stores like Safeway. I'll just have to be careful.

You should only use a credit card when you have the money to pay it off right away, other wise use a debit card to avoid more debt.
