I rate when I feel it's appropriate, positive or negative. Usually positive, because it's nice to see one's number go up :) but if someone's being a bully, down they go.

Hi GB! I always rate discussions either with a + or not at all! The only time I rate a - is if a person is being abusive to other members! I always mark your discussions a + GB!

i do.almost everybody gets a positive from me. only rarely do i hit the other two buttons.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I find this very hard to understand! I know that I always rate you a positive whenever I respond to your discussions and I'm sure others do too! So how can you possibly never get a higher rating? This just doesn't make sense! I know that for myself I was at a 99% rating for 3 days and went back down to 98% and was very upset! The about a month later now I went back to a 99% rating now for about 2 weeks and I am waiting to see what will happen again! I don't know why or what is going on here! I wrote to admin about it but got no response!

i hardly post any discussions nowadays and i prefer to response more than to post... so i don't really have to rate anyone here... my rating here had been constant as well for the past two years... haven't gone up nor gone down which i am really grateful for it... take care and have a nice day...

I rate discussions that I visit +, usually even if I just read them, or if I respond. I do rate at other points as well. Almost universally people who respond to may discussions or comment on my responses get a + at that point. I also will randomly give + to people throughout a discussion. I do still rate. It is just that the more points you have by your name, the more plusses are required to move you up, because it is based on percentages.

I always rate a positive. I think maybe a handful of times the other person really ticks me off so I just dont rate them at all.

I try to rate discussions if I can or think about it. I have no idea how one gets the xx/100 rating. Maybe someone has further insight for you.

Hi Grandpa Bob, i rate all my friends and others '+' or rate nothing at all, every discussion i respond to and many others and the ones near me, all of them, they always get a '+' from me..

if i'm having so much discussions to respond to, I sometimes forgot to rate but if I'm rating discussions or comments i only rate positively and not negatively.

i am really new here in mylot and my answer is yes i do rate the discussions that i reply to. i read about mylot before i joined and a lot of the articles say something like 'be helpful and rate the discussions'. so i do that as often that i can, '+'s AND '-'s. no '!' so far :P and i think a lot of people rate too because after 1 week in mylot i have rankings in my 'Interests'. makes me feel important lol

Hey Grandpa Bob, I still rate positive, its a habit. I also stay away from the negative rating. Once or twice I reported someone, but then they deserved it. BTW, I rated this discussion positive. Take care...Happy Spring.

Yep, I still do it. As a matter of fact I do it all the time! LOL Even after all this time I still take the time to rate discussions that I respond to as well as to responses when it comes to discussions that I start. I even rate comments. Heck, sometimes I even rate discussions/responses/comments that I don't even participate in. So as you can see I'm always doing it! LOL As for your reputation/star, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Mine's been at 98/100 for the past 2 and a half years (it did drop a point here and there a couple of times so I knew that the darn thing wasn't broken LOL, but it went right back up to where it is now). It's never gone any higher, nor do I expect it to. LOL Just keep on posting and don't let those darn trolls get to you. Happy mylotting!

Hello webeishere, From the moment I went to mylot for posting revenge , I still do the rating system, though I don't give negative ratings to anyone. I am also stucked at 93/100. I saw this number last year, and until now it is the same. With my discussions, I also rate all the mylotters who gives out there responses to me. I hope next month, my star will change it's color.

I still rate discussions, though I admit, I only rate those discussions that I comment on, and not the other comments on the discussion. I also do rate the comments on my discussions. Like you, I have my rating stuck since last year, so I guess people did stop rating already. Though I have this theory, that people would only remember to rate you if they really hate your answer, I saw this discussions about the health care bill, and there was really a good argument going on there and I noticed that almost all those who participated has their ratings down to almost 60something...

Hello, Grandpa Bob. I've been always rate other users and discussions that I've readed. I think we should rate those answers which we found interesting or usefull. When I start a discussion and when I get responces from other mylotters, then I rate EVERYONE of them with a plus, no matter if their opinions are good or not. I think everyone who is spending time here to post in discussions deserve to be rated with a plus. I think I've rated only few times users which are posting referral links My rating was 97/100 and my star was blue and I was so happy to see that other mylotters are giving me plus rates, but few days back my rating goes down to 95 / 100 and now my star is red. And I hate that color, so I'll try to make more good responces and I hope I will get back my blue star. My opinion is that users are giving us rates, but if you receive 3 + rates and 3 - rates, then your star is staying with the same rate. This is just what I think.
