Tea is the better option I believe so, but instead of drinking tea, I choose coffee or chocolate to fight the sleepiness. Taking iron supplement also helps, in a way, probably because it boosts my energy. I always take iron with vitamin C.

Yes that's good. But in addition to tea preferably green tea I'd like to start the day with a walk for about 45 minutes. If its not possible to walk i start with warm up exercise for 10 minutes then do the treadmill and the stationary bike for 30 minutes. The reason I'm giving these particulars is the exercise drives out the sleepiness and makes me active.Once you are active early in the day you won't feel lazy.

Well i don't think it has anything to do with that , it is about the mindset.

Laziness and sleepiness are two totally different things. I have taken coffee tea and mountian dew for sleepiness. They work fairly well. A nap or longer sleep hours help too. Laziness is a lack of willingness to do something. A whole attitude change would be needed there. No amount of caffene or rest can help a lazy one.

Hi siliguri! I love to drink tea! I usually drink Green Tea to
make me feel more alive and give me some energy in the colder
weather! But, when it is warmer I drink my diet coke! I love
my diet coke more than anything! I will sometimes make iced tea
too! But, I find that I prefer warm tea more so I actually drink
more tea in the Wintertime! But, drinking tea does definitely
give you a boost due to the caffeine!

Tea has never done anything for me to help me to wake up in the morning or to stay awake when I am feeling tired. For me, I need to have a cup of strong coffee to be able to get through those times when I am feeling very tired. The reason for this is because of the fact that I don't feel like I am able to function when I am tired and I really need the jolt of caffeine to keep me going and I don't think that there is enough caffeine in tea.

No im not fond of drinking tea. i drink either choco or coffee but not frequently. sometimes water alone help me avoid laziness. i eat some fruits like banana and mango. i deal with sleepiness by repeatedly opening my eyes.

It seems tea has become a part of most indians and of all ages, tea is a must in the morning for me too. I sip tea with milk and sugar free tablets added 4-5 times daily. When i am in a seminar or in tour this is more. But in train tea is too costly...
Thanks for sharing. Sorry for late response..
Welcome always.
Cheers.

I preffer coffee, maybe because im so used to it already. What i mean is when im feeling sleepy or lazy when im working i tend to drink coffee to perk me up and its like a energizer for me. Maybe thats because of the caffeine ;)

The only thing that works for me is proper sleep the previous day. If I stay up all night making posts on myLot (or any place else, for that matter) I am going to have to sleep for some hours during the next day; no amount of caffeine will keep me awake. If I do have lots of caffeine, it will be a fitful sleep, and I'll probably be under even more since I won't get the sleep needed for me to stay awake.
I'm on medication for high blood pressure, and I found out yesterday having coffee is raising it above the amount, so next test will be with tea. I hope I can have something; water is so boring, and Americans make fruit juices so sweet.

i am not in the habit of drinking tea. but i would like to. but i don't feel more alert or more energize when i drink it. maybe i just didn't realize that the energy to work i had before was because of the effects of tea. like this day i was not feeling good. i didn't drink tea and i was sleepy all day.

I like tea to wake me up too!
My son prefers coffee.
I think a cold shower or a run round the block in your sports clothes would be equally awakening but not so cosy and comfortable.

I prefer to drink coffee to perk me up in the morning but after meals I use to drink herbal tea to enhance proper food digestion. For some people drinking a cup of tea gives them a feeling of satisfaction, like what others also feel when they drink a cup of coffee.
