i have eset smart security trial version and i have it for 2 years now. I downloaded the trial version, install it, and ran it on my laptop. the trial version is only good for 30 years. so what did i do when it expires? the best thing about eset is that its a good anti-virus,antispam, antimalware, firewall. here is what you should do 1. go to www.eset.com 2. download eset smart security or nod32 3. provide your email for password and username 4. install antivirus, provide username and password 5. when it expires, create a new email. 6. go to site again, provide email, check email for new username and password then it will work again.when it expires again go to step 5. no need to buy. hope this helps

Hi siliguri, You do not have to spend a single cent to have an anti virus. You can find it by just browsing it on the net. Check at filehippo.com. They have listed a lot of software (anti virus included) that you can downloaded. Some of it free but a few of it has its trail time. For anti virus, just check it at the anti virus section. You can read the feature of this anti virus and check their availability (free or trail). There are a lot anti virus software you can find there like AVG, Antivir Personal, Avast, Bitdefender and many more.

Please don't buy antivirus.I won't say it is a waste but there are two free antivirus which are equally best to paid services. Avast 5.0 and Avira are the best. These two are free versions.I recently installed Avast 5.0 and it is working great. It has most of the features. So just try installing that.Surely it will help you...

Hi siliguri, I think it is better to go for the paid version of antivirus for the best result. I also used the free version many times but virus attacked my computer in between. Now I am using the paid version and so far I have not faced any threats from virus. If there is any virus comes my anti virus package is able to catch it up and destroying the same. Since we are using the internet threats are usual so please do it wisely than repent later.

We've used AVG in the past and now we use one called AVAST. Both were free and are good.

I use a free antivirus, and I have for the last two years. It's Avast! Antivirus, and it works wonderfully. It checks your incoming and outgoing messages, it checks your Messenging Service, and a whole host of other things that I don't even know what they are. All you have to do is a search on Free Antivirus, and it should come up in the results.

I don't think there's a free Norton antivirus. Probably you've gotten a trial version. May I ask what's your operating system? If its Windows 7, Microsoft provides a free antivirus software called Microsoft Security Essentials.

well you can give AVG free or Avast Free Antivirus. They are quite comprehensive enough for home user and has an auto virus definition files updates quite frequently. Enjoy freeware!

I have a Mac, but I know that they can get viruses too. Not as often, or with a such high percentage though... I have a free antivirus and it helps me, because I feel safer (even if I wouldn't be). For a Windows I would suggest to get a good one though, because you can get viruses and trojans even if you don't do pirating (which I think is wrong). Remember... Safety first! :D
