what household appliance can you do without the least?
Is it your refrigerator?
Is it the oven?
Is it your Television?
Is it the Computer?
Is it the microwave?
Is it your dishwasher which some would consider a luxury item
or maybe even your toaster
I think we take a lot of these items for granted and don't realize how hard it would be to get through the day if even one of them did not work.
I can do without my television as i don't watch near as much as i used to.
what is your item that you can't do without for even a day and why is it that way?
I think my everyday item i use the most is my computer and since i use it to make money i think i would be lost without it.

hell0! well, i think it is the oven, because the TV i can replace with the computer, the computer is actually I can replace with the smartphone, and the phone( the mobile one) is not a part from the house hold :)
and oven is irreplaceable because i need it to cook and there is no other household appliance that can replace the oven!

You could always grill out. Or cook in a crockpot. There are ways around everything if you try hard enough.

this time of year we get a lot of rain as it was sunny for about a week and then rain for two days so not always convenient for outdoor grilling and i am only used to cooking on the stove as i am not a great cook, but i do what i can and it is nice when i make certain dishes to have it there as it would be pretty tough to make my specialty without the oven.

I think the stove is a gem. My basis for survival has always been food. Well, we don't have toasters or microwave. We have an oven I couldn't use because I am an idiot when it comes to baking.
The washing machine is precious too. The last time I handwashed heavy clothes and some jeans, I ended up with an arm pain that lasted for a month.

What dish is that?
Honestly, I really hate that "drool" emoticon but nothing else fits.

yeah I don't think I'd be too willing to help out with the clothes at my parents if not for the washing machine as it makes doing the clothes so much easier.
I am not a great cook, but for the one dish that i make often the oven cooks it very well and makes it perfect.

I need them all! I can't live without any of these. Take one of them away and I will be lost.

You sure have been busy here at mylot. But to answer this question, I think the thing that I could do without that you listed is the toaster. I couldn't do without my computer because it is my form of entertainment as far as what I use to wind down after a long day! Which most of my days tend to be these days. Such as I worked today then came to my daughters place to watch my grand daughter while my daughter worked tonight and then my grand daughter just did go to sleep within the last 15 minutes. So days like today makes for a long day and I couldn't do without my computer but sure could do without the toaster.

yeah i find that some of the days if i want to watch a television program i will even watch that on the computer.
I do a lot of my computer on a daily basis and I don't think it would be a lot of fun without it.
I definitely could do without my toaster if i had to do without one of them for a few days, but it does come in handy when i want a toasted sandwich which i think i will have when i get home a nice turkey sandwich.

Maybe we can do without some of the appliances for some days, but I don't think we can do well without them forever.
like computer for an example, sometimes I think without computer, I can really have my eyes relax, it's good for your health; or If you don't use your fridge for a couple of days, then you can have fresh food, you know, overnight food does no good to our health and can be less nutritious.
If I have to choose one that I can do without, it could be TV, you know , since the Internet applies almost all of the shows, and which is the most important, you can watch it whenever you want.
I'd like to say that everything plays its part in our splendid life~~~

yeah it would be hard to do without some of these items, but we can for a few days if we absolutely have to and maybe some of them would not be so bad, but others that get used everyday it would be much harder to get through a day without some of these items.

In my case, even if I don't consider it an appliance, it's my computer. I don't think I can live without it. I have lived for long without an oven and I don't watch tv at all, but I can't do it without the computer, as it's my main source of entertainment when I'm at home.

I find it difficult to go without the radio on (gotta have my music).
But if I'm outside in my garden, I don't miss it.

yeah our neighbor will always have the radio on when he is outside working i will usually have my video player on, but usually if I'm outside doing stuff in the yard i will just listen to the music files on it as it is just easier that way and it makes it more fun having something to listen to while you work.

well i will go over and help out at my parents house and i am sure glad that they have one over there, because it could take a very long time to do all the dishes without one and mom seems to keep buying more plates and bowls so there is more piled up so i am glad that one is there cause i can clean a lot up fast with that.

For me, it's the microwave. I live in the dorm and there is no place to cook so the microwave is my only source of hot food if I don't go to the dining hall. I wouldn't be able to live without my microwave for a day.

I think that in my case that would be computer too. It's a great source of entertainment and communication possibilities, I also earn a couple of bucks for myself using it. I think I could rather do without oven or refrigerator, because I can eat out in cafe too. But using public computers doesn't give you the same freedom like you have when using your personal computer.

yeah i don;t think i would want to use a shared computer either as i like to have my space when i am getting online and using a public or shared computer you have too many things to be concerned about when doing that as most of us like our privacy when getting online.

I think it's the toaster. It's the one that I use the least. My sister's the one who always toasts bread. My favorite would be my laptop and the washing machine. I don't think I can ever live without these two appliances in the house. Yes you're right, we sometimes take these things for granted.

yeah i need my computer and i would not want to do the clothes without the washing machine either and the toaster just doesn't get used much anymore, but mom has one of those that is an over and a toaster so not one just for toast, but it still doesn't get used too much and that is the one that i could live without the easiest as for some of the others like the oven or the fridge you really need those on a daily basis.

Thinking about it I suppose that there are two appliances I could live without; my microwave and my hand held blender. I only use the microwave about once a month and my blender just a couple of times a month, so I wouldn't really miss them if I didn't have them.
I could live without my laptop for one day, but no longer and I am a total television addict so I could never live without my television.

yeah I think I'm the opposite of you as I am online more then i watch my television so if I had to go without one of them it would be the television and not the computer as i make my living on the computer so i have to be on it so many hours in a day.
I don't use the microwave too much, but when i want to heat something up fast i will use it and i hardly ever use my blender either.

i don't know if it counts because it is so big, but how could one live without a fridge? i mean we can live without entertainment type things or heating devices if we had to, but in order to keep our food fresh we gotta have that fridge! the only way to live without it is if you had only stuff like canned food or bread or stuff that doesnt need the be cold all the time, but then at that point do you really need things like the microwave or oven? i doubt it. of course we could just live off of junk food, but thats the kinda stuff that made me fat and why i've had to lose so much weight via diet! gotta have my fridge

yeah hard to live without the fridge and how would we keep our food fresh or our drinks cold without one.
we just need to do a better job of keeping the one we have cleaned out and i think the one my parents have is about to need to be replaced as it is pushing 20 years old and the icemaker is having issues.

I would be nowhere with my computer, but it's not something I absolutely need. I think I would need the microwave the least... or television.

Well, just about all of them really since I've done it at different times. All you really need is a safe place to sleep, a means to go to the bathroom (prefereably with inddor plumbing) and room enough for a few belongings.

I could do without a ton of my appliances. I would be happy to get rid of the toaster, coffee maker, blender, mixer, and dishwasher. All of these items are just taking up space at my house an serve no real use. As for the one thing I couldn't live without, I don't have anything that is that important as far as appliances goes. As long as everybody is ok, I could adapt and overcome for a short period of time.

one appliance that i forgot to mention was one that i used today and that was the washer and dryer and it is pretty hard to wash clothes without those two and i don't think i would want to try.
It is nice that you are not dependent on your appliances as we can get by without some of them for a few days if we must, but it would be tough to go without some of them for a long period of time.

If I had to do without an appliance, it would for sure have to be something small, like the toaster. I use all the other appliances on a daily basis, and it would be hard to adjust without them! Especially the stove and oven. I love to cook and bake, so that could not work.

yeah it would tough to cook something without your oven, unless it was a made for the microwave item.
I hardly ever use the toaster anymore unless i am really in the mood for a sandwich on toast.
It would be hard to imagine our lives without some of these items.
