Have any of you ever sold an item/items on craigslist? I know from experience that craigslist is a great way to make a decent amount of "extra" money each month, especially if you live in a highly populated area. I used to sell a lot of items on craigslist from clothes, to furniture, toys, surfboards, etc. And i made a good amount of money doing it. I got a lot of my items from garage sales where they were being sold for very cheap prices, and than i resold them on craigslist. i purchased a kids play yard for $10 at a garage sale, and resold it on craigslist for $50. I bought a dog carrier for $20 and resold it for $45. I've also sold lots of kids brand name clothes, as well as a ton of other items, making a profit on everything! I haven't been able to do it so much lately because we've moved to a very small town far away from other towns. I was able to sell some clothes though. Selling on craigslist is easier than holding a garage sale, and you are able to sell the items for more. There are lots of people browsing through craigslist every day, so there are many possible customers. You never know what someone is looking for!

Thanks! But, unfortunately do to the fact that i have moved to a less populated area, i don't sell much on craigslist anymore. There aren't enough people in this area to make money off of selling items on craigslist. This little town has a population of only a few hundred people. I just wouldn't have the buyers here. There also aren't many garage sales here. I have listed and sold a few things, but not as much as I once did before my move. I really miss doing it though, and hope to one day move back to an area where i could do well once again selling items through craigslist.

Wow! that's great. I have sold some of my own items as well..but i really love earning money and making a profit through reselling items i've just purchased. My husband sells his old surfboards through craigslist, i have my car listed, but haven't got very lucky with that, i'll probably have to driop the price on it.

Craigslist is a really great site. What have you heard about it? I have been using craigslist for years and I have never had a bad experience. I know a lot of other people who buy and sell on craigslist as well, and so far i've never heard of any bad experiences with buying or selling through craigslist, although, i can see how some people may be unsure with using such a site. When buying through craigslist, just take precautions, you never should go to someones house to pick up and item alone, just in case, also, if you don't want a stranger coming to your house to pick up an item, just meet in a public place.

Craigslist is AWESOME! I've used it for so many things including selling. Last summer my husband and I made a big move and we had to sell a lot of our furniture and buy new when we moved. Well we sold everything via Craigslist. It worked out so well! It's so nice knowing that if you want to get rid of something and sell it that you can do so for free on Craigslist. I've also found jobs and friends on craigslist. It really is a great site for so many reasons!

Yes, i agree. I love the fact that it is free to post! I've also come across some good freebies in the "freebies" section of craigslist. It may not be instantly, but it is very likely that you'll be able to find a buyer for most items on craigslist.

You are right, it is really easy to make money on craigslist, but items must be picked carefully for selling. For some things, no one replies. But I did sell a few of my college textbooks there and made good money. That said, I got simlar result at amazon. But for a good profit, the editions must be in demand.

i have found that baby/children items, such as toys and clothes sell very well..and fast. Most people don't want to pay full price for these things because they are so expensive and the kids tend to grow out of them quickly.

I have tried to sell on craigslist but never was able to get anywhere with that. What I've used successfully is ebay. I have been able to sell a whole lot on ebay. The good thing about that website is that you can compare prices very easily. And the auction option really does help as it allows people to tell you what they believe your product is worth. It also allows you to name your own price and expect it to grow.

i have sold items on ebay too. I have made some money, but a lot of the time with shipping expenses, it really takes away a lot of my earnings. I hate that they keep raising shipping prices! That is the main reason i've stopped selling on ebay, although there are certain items that do sell well. But, for bigger items it would probably not be worth it at all. What do you sell on ebay?

I love craigslist! You could even look through the "free stuff" section and find neat things to sell. This is awesome if you are looking to start a free fundraiser. I've been selling things on craigslist for 2 years now and have been successful at it.
