I like history a lot. I felt like it was a good thing to do. If I study history I take a lot of effort from it because I just love it. Others think it is boring but isn't it good to know the history of your country, of that city or even you yourself?

I love learning about history. There are so many fascinating people. I like learning about the Tudors. What's your favourite historical interest?

The Tudors are very interesting, I read about them too :) Well, my favorite is biased on my country, haha, because I like reading about our former president which is Ferdinand Marcos and also the history of my country. However, I also like reading about the World War II and also Nelson Mandela's biography :)

I think everyone has a biased interest in the history of their own country more than others. It’s like you want to know how the way you live now came to be in the first place. It’s great! I want to learn about other countries too though. I have a copy of Gandhi’s autobiography on my “to read” pile that I hope will be really enlightening.

I always loved history in school, even though others found it boring. I though math and science was boring myself. Anyway, as I have gotten older I have read more and more history books, especially about topics I never learned about in school.

I am not much of a history buff, but lately I've become really into Sarah Vowell, an author who is focused on mostly American early history. Vowell taught me that history is more interesting than I thought.

When I was at secondary school history was one of my favorite subjects. I did really well in the history exams because I found it all so incredibly interesting. My home country has a long and very interesting history. The capital city has a fascinating history. I think that we can learn from some episodes which happened in the past. During my travels to many different countries I have been able to visit some historical sites. I visited the Mayan ruins in Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. Wow! I loved it when I went to Hawaii. There I was able to visit Pearl Harbor. I have been to Israel and have visited a number of Jewish sites in Europe. Jewish museums are usually very interesting. I have liked hearing about people that saved Jewish people in World War II.

Hi, Aauecon06. I think it's "imperative" that we learn our country's history. And to a lesser extent, but still important, our state and local histories. Without history, we tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. I don't watch as much history (on the History Channel) as I should and I've forgotten a lot of history that I once learned, so I guess I've got my "work" cut out for me.

History is one of my passions since grade 9( so thats quite a few years now) I can read history books like other read novels and it`s never boring for me mostly I read about ancient cultures and their mythology + daily life, like the Egyptians, Sumerian, ect. this year I decided to read "deeper" into my countries history in World War 2 and there is a lot to read about Germany at this time.so far I finished 11 books just about this subject. history and learning from it, helps to improve yourself and not to forget!!!
