So I read an article today that helps remind us that the treadmill information on how many calories burned has a 10% margin. So you think you burned off 300 calories, but reminder it's an estimate and most likely overestimating. This is the same for the other calorie burning machines out there, stair climber, stationary bike, elliptical, etc...Read more at everydayhealth.com
So I don't know about you, but I feel like I burned more than what it tells me sometimes. I guess because I'm so tired after and sweating like crazy...lol
How about you? What are your thoughts?

I don't think the treadmill technically lies, it just makes the best estimate of your results. My sister told me once that the treadmill is a little under sometimes. If you feel you've burned more calories than it's saying, then you probably have. By the way good job, 300 calories on the treadmill?! That's great. You aught to give yourself a pat on the back for that.

Hi and thanks for the information. I completely agree. I would rather think that way then the underestimation after working that hard. Do you spend a lot on time exercising? For me it's a part of my routine so it helps to keep on target.

Select an exercise pattern to suit your life style. All of us have different life styles and professions so there is no sense in trying to follow the book strictly. Try and follow an exercise routine that is suitable for you. You have to understand that even more important than the exercise it is sticking to it. So unless you choose something that can suit your life style, you are not going to stick on to it.
