Some teenagers do get pregnant and become a mom at a young age. Many teenagers have an abortion and admire the ones that become a loving and responsible parent. These teen parents might be in the middle of their education. I think that age 14, 15, 16 and 17 years old are young to have a baby.
The best age for a lady to have a baby is age 20 to 24 years old or age 25 to 29 years old. Earlier than twenty is young and after thirty five is late.

I think too young for having a baby is below 18 years old. That's just my views. I feel so bad seeing below 18 pregnant girls, and they are only students!

well, it really depends on the maturity of the person... every people matured at different age... some people may be young in age but really matured and vice versa... but i wouldn't recommend to have a baby at 14 because at 14, the girl is still a teenager and undergoing so many changes in her life as well... also, at 14, she might still want to have fun with her friends and having a baby might be a huge responsibility for her... i think 24 is a good age to have a baby... take care and have a nice day...

Too young is when you want to have a baby because it looks cute and feels cute. Not thinking about how to feed it, take care of it and work hard for him/her. When you're still not responsible enough to finish school, have a job and pay for bills. When it's all about your knight-in-shining armor and thinking that you're the princess. When you haven't outgrown shopping and being with friends. When you've tried taking care of other people's kids and is thankful that they're not your own.
That's when it's too young to have a baby.

I think that anyone who is below 20 years old is still too young to have a baby especially for a girl. The reason is not purely financial stability or maturity but it is more of the reproductive reason. I have read in one of the Women's Magazine that it is not healthy to have a baby especially at the age of 11 - 16 years old.
This issue was highlighted by some Women's Organization because there are tribes where girls at an early age are already considered ready to be married and have a child once they had their first menstrual period. Usually 11 - 16 years old girls marry 30+ old men in their village. The youngest girl who had a child was only 11 years old. It was discussed during one of my Elective Subjects in Women and Development.

Well, nowadays a lot of people got pregnant in a very young age...its not a shock for me though but 14 years old is too young to be a mother. They can be physically ready but in psychological aspect..i don't think so they still need their own mothers.

Under the age of 18 is certainly too young to have a baby, and I say this because, for American girls, they are still getting their lives together, and they should have fun and be teens first before getting pregnant.

at any rate, i guess too young is when you are still under the care of your parents and not knowing what will you do in life...teen pregnancies are always about mistakes i dunno know any teenage girl who plan on getting pregnant..

today's society dictates that anyone below 18 years old is too young to have a baby. Personally, I don't think that's enough. The mom-to-be has to be not just above the legal age, but also mature enough and ready to take on the challenge of raising a life.
And 14 is TOO YOUNG! Too young INDEED!

Where I live, it seems a little common for 12-14 year olds to become pregnant. I had a girl in my 8th grade graduating class that had a 2 year old son.
WAY TOO YOUNG!!!
I thought that I was ready at a young age, from about 17-21, but around the middle of my 21st year I was grateful that I hadn't yet had any children, but that changed about 5 months later :x I believe that 24 or 25 is a more stable age to begin a family, but it's a all a matter of mindset, maturity, and financial planning/stability.

For me, no matter what people say about maturity being not an age thing, I'd still think that a woman has to be at least 25 years old to be able to become a responsible mother. Before this age I think a mother would be doing her baby a misfortune.

It's young even 16 is too young. My sister got pregnant at that age. I know it should be expected because she's living with her boyfriend before. She's with us now.. with a cute little baby with her. I'm glad but I know she's young..She's planning to go back to school this year.

Well, i dont think 14 years is right age. There are lots of things, maturity and proper health to deliver a healthy baby. I wonder the 14 year girl herself need some one to care and how can she take care of a baby. Certain things are age factors, and doing it before those age, can cause health effect for her in future.

14 years old is way too young. Though there is a possibility that she only looks 14 and probably has a baby face. Anyway, it's obvious that 14 yrs old and already pregnant is very shocking.

If a girl cannot get married unless she gets her parent's consent because she is pregnant, she is too young to have a baby. in primitive cultures, of course, the girl can be twelve or younger, but then she goes to her new husband a virgin. And in some parts of the States, they can marry at 13 without having to be pregnant.
Even if a girl has babysat and looked after her brothers and sisters, if she is below 17, she needs someone's help besides that of her husband. So 17 and over is best.
That girl could have been 18 and looked 14. I do know that some girls are 14, and look older and that is the kind one worries about because older looks do not mean maturity.

Too young is not about age :) Too young is can you give the baby a good life. With what you have. Can you teach the baby, can you say that your a good example. If you answer yes to the question your not too young. Or your just lying to yourself. :)

14 is too young in my opinion, personally and it is just my opinion I think 18 is reasonable age. Pregnancy baby is a huge responsibility that will change the mothers life completely. She is simply too young for any responsibilities, that is still her age where she should be care free. A baby is not a doll, and nothing lie you see in TV. Ask anyone who fell pregnant young and they would say they are glad but wished could wait.
Having a baby so young can bring about so many pressures and so many changes, a 14/16 year old will be unable to cope with. When her friends are out having fun she must look after the baby, a day can come when she might regret having baby so young. I'm not saying everyone will feel this way but once the bay comes, they will gain a completely different perspective on life and life will change completely.
There was research in UK, that proved a direct link with poverty and teenage pregnancies. When they feel something is missing or void they have a baby for fulfilment but its not a doll. As a society we should take responsibility and explain to young people what being a mother entails.
I would definitely say wait atleast till you're 18.
