In my country, always, before Easter,in Great week to TV are given movies about God and his Son, about Christ, his life and everything that happened then, movies that always impresses me, and i cry every time when i see them.
WHY? Who can answer to this questions? I am not a fanatic, i am not very religious, i believe in God, i try to respect all what He teach us; but Why i cry every time when i read or watch movies about HIS teachings about His Son who sacrificed himself for our sins?
WHY I CRY EVERY TIME?

You can cry because of many reasons, and in the sense of God and His son, you can cry because of two main reasons.
1. Because you feel pity for the son to suffer so much on this earth in the hands of the wicket. This type of tears is due to emotions out of feeling pity. But i don't think you will remember it long after i heard or watch it. You will forget it easily after some time when you are busy with another things.
2. Because you are so thankful that He came to save u from your sins. This is tears out of happiness and thankfulness. It will touch your heart and change you from your old being to a new being that will praise him and do His wills. You will always remember Him and He will speak to you wherever you go what ever you do. Even if you forget it, it won't be long.

Dear icesmile, these films or tv series are made on purpose for making the people crying! The directors and producers probably ask the consultation of experienced psychologists and through the use of music, screen-play and the ability of the director and the actors they realize a touching film. It is normal that you feel you touched and spiritually inspired, these films are studied so that to provoke these reactions... also in those agnostic people or atheists, these films are propagandist and touch the heart of everybody, Christians and not Christians....
Have a nice day, sorry for my english :)

i think it is not only you that experienced this... i also always cry when i watch the movie about Jesus... especially "The Passion of the Christ"... we can never comprehend fully why God wants to die for our sins and the sacrifices that He had made for us on the Cross... this just shows how merciful He is and i can never stop thanking Him for this Salvation grace that He had given to me... take care and have a nice day...

When I see a movie and Jesus is being pushed threw the crowds carrying a cross on his back and then he is nailed to the cross I'm alway crying. I have watched these types of movies so many times and I can't imagine watching this and not crying. Its just so heartbreaking when you think about how he did what he did for all of us because of our sins. I think you cry like all of do realizing how much Jesus sacrificed for us.

This is a question only you can answer. I do the same thing when talking about the teachings of Christ. I get a little misty eyed. I feel it is His way of letting me know that it is good and right and it is an emotion that He gives me to let me know that He is with me.
Prime example of this is this past weekend I took my niece Easter egg hunting at the church. All of the 2-3 graders were paired together for their hunt. We had one little girl that was in the bathroom when the hunt began and only made it out to collect a few eggs. She was standing in line crying when we finished the hunt and my niece asked why she was crying. Her mother told us the story of her not making it outside in time to get many eggs. I encouraged my niece to give up a few of her eggs and another little girl also gave up a few of hers. By the time it was finished the little girl who had missed most of the hunt had received about 35 eggs. I told her that we shared because we are all children of God and that when we work together as He would want us to then we would all win together. The kids did not quite get that they just thought they were being friendly but the eyes of all the moms/aunts were misty becuase we knew that He had brought us together that day for a special message.

I am not a person who cries easily, but every time I have the same reaction when i watch a movie like this, especially in Big Week before Easter .... maybe because I realize how small we are, how bad we are, we must learn first about simplicity, about how we can be good people, how we can always to see what is important in our life.

This happens not only with you but with all people at some time in their life.Do you remember what is said in the Bible? The Bible says" Man is made in the image of God".This means that God is present within the soul of every human, animal and plant life. But it is only humans who have the potential to reach God by certain spiritual methods like prayer, meditation, devotion etc.Whenever you see a movie which has a spiritual background the hidden God within you rises to the surface and your devotion rises to the peak. At that point you connect with God and your eyes are bathed in tears of devotion and bliss. These tears are not of sorrow but of joy and intense devotion.I have seen this happen to hundreds of people when they chant the names of God in a congregation. When the intensity of the devotion rises to its peak tears flow from their eyes, the throat gets choked, some people get up and dance in ecstasy and some people sway in a trance-like state and some people become very still and go into a meditative state. So there is nothing wrong or mysterious with what is happening to you.

I think that the reason is that you are sensitive to his sufferings, and his love to us all. Maybe deep down in your heart you feel that you are not repaying him with so much love, and wish to be a better person. No one is perfect and we all have way to change and become better. We shoudl always keep in mind God's love and sacrifice for us, his mercy and his unconditional love, not only at easter time.
