It was raing hard when my boyfriend and I left Bahay Nakpil in Quiapo, an ancestral house. While walking we saw and heard drums playing.
The beat was loud and enthusiastic. It was full of passion. The musicians are around 9-20 years old. They were having fun. They were even shouting their voices with the rhythm.
Watching them made me happy and proud that the kids from Quiapo are initiative and creative. They have recreational activities aside from their lives as a student, sons, maybe sidewalk vendors or barkers.
As we still walked and passed by them, we still hear them playing and shouting to the beat they're making.
My boyfriend and I couldn't help but to talk and watch at them. I asked why are they playing in the rain? They simply answered, "We want to lay and have fun."
The group's name that was playing on a rainy day on Quiapo is called Mendoza Tribe. The name is Mendoza because this is the name of the community and the people who live in it.
I just want to share my joys of walking in the streets of my country.

The simplicity of enjoying the place, but be careful for the people who had bad intentions.

It must be an amusing things to watch. It's easy for these people to be happy, probably because of their simplicity in life. Some things like getting rained on would annoy most people I know, but for these people - it's like a shower of blessing coming from the heavens.... it's amazing.
