Interview at Zoo

Hi all!
I have an interview next week with a zoo, about taking an internship there.
What I'm wondering is, what do I wear to something like that? It's a zoo--I wouldn't think they'd want me to wear super nice clothes...what do you guys think? Would a nice, clean pair of jeans be okay?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Better late then never!
I'm glad so many people are saying jeans will be okay! I hope that I can still dress to impress with my jeans! I'm most comfortable in them!!!
Thank you!

Aww thank you very much quita!!
My jeans aren't really wrinkly, and if I tried to iron them...let's just say it would end badly! lol
I never wear bracelets so that won't be an issue, I LOVE necklaces lol. And I don't wear rings often either.
I have a couple tops that may work well.
Ahhh, nerves!!!! lol

LOL, just make sure they are clean and I'd press them a bit if I were you, but I'm old and still believe in the old ironing thing:)
Also wear a nice top and some nice jewelry that doesn't overpower your "jeans" look. Take care with make up and have your shoes clean and also those hands should be clean and not to much bangly bracelets and a one ring should be enough if you are married.
And just be your wonderful happy self and smile girl cuz you are going to do great!!

Ooh that's exciting! My thought on interviews is to always dress up more than you may think you need to. I'm not telling you to wear a suit ..haha no worries. But that is always my motto. I think it's better to look more dressed up than you need to be rather than not being dressed up enough. Just my opinion though. Good luck with your interview! Sounds like a fun position!

Good, cause I don't have any suits! lol
So do you think a nice pair of jeans and a nice blouse would be good enough for this?
Thank you!

I don't know. I would think so. It also depends on what position you're applying for. Knowing you, working with animals, so I would think jeans would be fine. So how did it go or have you gone yet?

Khakis? I don't know, but good luck! I would love to work at a zoo, especially if it's with the animals.

How about some safari pants? Just to show that you're 'zoo-ready'. If the job you're interviewing for deals with the animals directly. I think that would make them think that you are really interested in the job, and you've made the necessary steps to be hands on. Including wardrobe. And if they ask you about it, then you could tell them the 'zoo-ready' part.
Goodluck!

Dress to impress. Jeans would be fine, but showing something that you like animals in your outfit also works. Low heels as it is a job for zoo.

A pair of khaki's... a tan button up shirt... a tan hat... Oh wait, yeah maybe not. I'd wear a pair of jeans that look nice, and a solid colored shirt.

Maybe a nice pair of jeans with a button down shirt and suit type jacket with low heels. Or a pair of casual pants with the button down shirt and suit jacket with a pair of heels that are casual and flat. Another words casual dress. Good luck to you on the interview.

Well thats really interesting about the interview. Wear a clean pair of jeans which will be best suiting the profession, and for the interview too. All the best!

Just my opinion but I would never wear jeans to any interview, even though they are a zoo they still want to see that you are professional and serious, do you have any trousers? A nice top and trousers would be smarter, I dont think you would need to turn up wearing a suit but you still need to look smart. Good luck with the interview, make sure you show that you have a love of animals and maybe try to do some research on the zoo, see if they have a website so you know what they have there, also do a search with the name of the zoo and the word interview, you never know you may come across a post from someone who has had an interview and you may pick up some tips, thats what I do whenever I have an interview and it usually works. Good luck.

That's great Lily! I'm so excited for you. :)
As for me, I usually wear casual clothes for interviews, something just enough to make me look smart and professional at the same time. Not the ones that I use for my regular days out. Honestly though, I never wore jeans on my past interviews. Jeans make me look really young (as if, I'm not matured yet to take on a serious job). :(
And don't forget to utter even a short prayer so He'll guide you.
Good luck and God bless!
