Not ot my advantage though
I have just been out with Gissi for his last walk tonight, the Sun was shining and the most beautiful Rainbow in the Sky
We get closer to the Field, Gissi of course charges to the Field, next thing the sky opens up nd it is pouring down, I am calling Gissi as I wanted to get home, I was getting drenched and no doubt Gissi would to, as I look at Gissi he is there on the Field looking at me and makes no move to come home, I was about to shout over to him to get a move on ....when I noticed....... Gissi is NOT wet, he is running around but he is dry, I actually rubbed my eyes to make sure I am not going insane but yep I soaked and being rained on ....... Gissi is dry and not rained on, Gissi is also not coming over to me to go home
I walk towards Gissi and the Rain stops, well when I turn around behind me it is raining and of course Gissi now comes to me and jumps up on my Leg, lovely light grey Jogging Bottoms and black Gissi paw marks yep just to finish Mum of and make her look even more like a drowned Rat
I have to say I was amazed as I have never seen that before
Have you ever experienced anything like that?
I will go and dry of now, I got wet and cold and Gissi decides to sit in front of the Fire yep good boy Gissi, do not worry about me

Hi, gabs8513. No. I have never seen anything like this happen before. I know that it can be raining in one area then further down, it will not be raining.. That is kind of odd. I would like to know what is made of this myself. This is something that I can't explain or make use of. I hope that this was just an illusion and nothing more.

That often happens here in the sub tropics. The next street can get a deluge and we have none, and yes, I have walked from rain to no rain with almost no in between.
Our house is at a T intersection and only this morning we watched a shower coming down the intersecting street towards us. We smelled it before it arrived and watched it all the way. Two minutes later it was completely gone and bright sunshine the whole time.
Our Gissi used his brains again. Why walk into the rain? I wouldn't either!

That is the strangest thing to see occuring! I have never seen it near my house, but when we went south on vacation it seemed like a normal thing for them. Usually we noticed it while driving on the highway...coming out of pouring down rain onto completely dry pavement. Then if you look out the rear window, sure enough it's still raining there!! I guess it has to end somewhere!! Just kinda neat to be at the place it ends/starts!

Had that happen before. I remember one time when I was a kid. We were playing in the back yard when it started to rain really heavy so we ran inside... then we noticed through the front window that the sun was shining out front so we went out there to play instead.
Apparently, an errant cloud had decided to dump it's water load over our back yard LOL. I believe that is sometimes referred to as a 'cloudburst'. Though in most cases a cloudburst refers to unusually heavy rain lasting a short period but capable of causing flash flooding.
In any case, we had to get changed before we went out the front because we were totally saturated.

That is incredible. But I have heard of things like that happening. Why am I not surprised to hear that Gissi stayed dry while you got wet??? You have all the luck. Gissi just has different luck. At least, you both got out of the house for a little while.

hi babs that is an odd experience I have seen it where it will rain in one spot but a quarter mile over its dry,but not as close as you and Gissi were,I am thinkin maybe our heavenly father was sort of keeping an
eye on Gissi so he would not get all cold and wet, and make him sick again, but what about poor you? he he then of course he had to show
'his appreciation by jumping up on his mum. good going Gissi. Yes sir
gissi is one smart little dog, he comes dashing over to the heater,oh boy beat mum here. he he he. And leaves you wondering why me? Love that little man in the doggie suit, hes such a character. hugs to you Gabs and to Gissi too.

Well it is typical Gissi that lol
But I seem to have this draw to Dogs they all seem to think they need to jump up on me when they see me on the Field lol there is 5 of them that charge over to me to greet me and wow there are all the little and big Paw Marks while I fuss them
The owners always apologise but I tell them not to worry lol
I go out nice and clean and come home covered in Paw Marks but well I have a washing Machine lol so it can be washed

Now I have seen it rain in one place and then a few minutes down the road it not be raining, but the way you make it seem it was an inch or so apart maybe. Hmm, No wonder Gissi wasn't coming he was like "I'm not getting in that rain!" And there he is near the heater, but he didn't get wet you did!
Such a cute picture!

That is bizarre then, I like to usually change clothes and take a hot bath when I get soaking wet like that. Here it's beautiful eight five degrees farenheit.

Gissi never worries about his Mum....it's Mum's job to worry about Gissi!!! When I was working in Washington DC I lived in Virginia. I lived in what they called a townhouse. There was a front yard & a backyard, but NO side yards as all the houses on that street were attached much like apartments except I had 2 floors. Well I was laying out sunbathing one day in my back yard when I heard the rumble of thunder. So, I'm thinking I better get to the store before the rain comes. I get up & go inside & slide my jeans on so I could go to the store before the rain got to my house. I grab my purse & keys & as I open my front door it's raining. I remember that I had not closed my back door so I go to close it. Remind you that I walk through my den & kitchen to get to the back door...NO rain. I still have my keys in my hand & my purse on my shoulder as I scoot to the front door to leave. I open the door & it's raining. I locked the screen door & go to the back door again & the sun is shining. I leave the back door open & I walk to the doorway between the den & the kitchen so I can see BOTH doors without moving. Sure enough, it's raining in the front yard & the sun is shining in the back yard. I lived in that house for 5 years & that happened frequently. Oddly enough, it ALWAYS rained in the front yard & the sun shined in the back yard when this freak of nature occurred!!! In my lifetime I have seen this happen while traveling too. It seems strange at the time it's happening.

LOL, I hope you got dried off good and don't get sick from this outing.
I have seen a rain like that. It was pouring down rain when I left work one day and was heading home. The all of a sudden there was no rain at all. It was as if a line had been drawn in the air saying that it was only going to rain on that one side of the town and not the other. Really odd and I think of this often.

One summer afternoon, we had a rain storm in Austin Texas. This was sometime in the mid to late 1960's.
There, right down the middle of Treadwell Blvd. was the demarcation between rain and no rain. Oh, a few drops fell on the dry side, but it was coming down in torrents just 3 feet away.
It lasted for about 15 minutes before it moved on...

That is rather odd, can’t say I’ve ever had a similar experience. I’ve seen rain up ahead while driving in the car but not so close; obviously Gissi could see that if he ran to you he would get wet and he’s too smart for that! I can see that he took over the heater straight away too! Our Gissi is smart cookie alright! You can say you’ve experienced something you may not see again too soon, strange...

Yes, it has been raining cats and dogs (sorry, Gissi)in the front yard of our house and totally dry in the back. And in one instance, it was raining on one side of the road, but not on the other. I guess it has to stop somewhere, but it's odd when it happens within a couple of feet of you!

Hi Gaby..You know, here in Florida that happens a lot..I have many times see it rain on one side of the street ant not on the other. It surely is a strange sight and it only happens during our rainy season (which is pretty much all summer) and right before hurricane season starts. The first time I saw it many years ago, I too thought I was seeing things but no, it happens..Its so flat here that you can also see the rain as it approaches you. Its like seeing someone moving towards you but its rain!! It does however give you time to RUN..Lambchop and Tab refuse to run until it is actually getting them wet. Then they look at me as if to say, Thanks a lot Mum..now lets get home!!!
