Just wondering how many people keep a to do list. Do you have a daily to do list? How about a major projects to do list?
When I lived in my other house, I had a huge to do list on the refrigerator. It was major repairs that I wanted to do to my house. I had no idea that they would ever get done, but I knew that I wanted to do them. I think because I wrote them down, that is why they did get done.
Nowadays, I am so busy, it seems I don't even have time to make a to do list. LOL What about you? Do you live by a to do list? Do you have small ones that you make on a regular basis, and then a major to do list of projects that you would like to get done?

Thank you for your response here in this discussion setsuna. I would rather be busy than bored, any day of the week. That is one of the expressions I have been using a lot here lately because I have been so busy. Like I said though, I like it.
Thank you for responding in this discussion, and have a good evening!

Hiya kykidd,
I keep a list in my Head and that way I remember things better than if I write it down. It would be a case of where did I put that list?
I often write things down that I donĀ“t want to loose though so much so that I forgot where I put the last one as I had hidden it away so well. I did find it after a bit of retracing my steps though.
I find also that if I write a list of to dos I never get them done ever.

I like making a to do list whenever I start my day at work, with that, I would know what needs to get done immediately, and the things that I can do in the afternoon or some other day. It really helps me become more organized in my work, and in that way, I don't miss out anything that needs to be done cause I am usually forgetful.

I'd say your superiors notice how organized that you are, too. It seems whenever someone has to do lists, that's not the only part about them that is organized. I am constantly being told how organized that I am at work. It kind of gives you a good feeling.
Good luck to you and thank you for responding to this discussion. Have a nice day!

I guess, at least you are honest. It seems as if there is a lot of that going around these days. People are content with the way they are, and that is that. There is no sense in trying to change them if that is what makes them happy. LOL
Thanks for responding and have a great day!

There are some people who can get away with living like that. And, we all have choices. My problem is I like to do things in a timely manner and I like to be on time when people invite me somewhere. There are a number of people in my life that I have to tell that something starts earlier than it does, just to try to get them to be there at a halfway decent time. However, these same people tell me a time, and then say, just remember most of the people are usually late so don't worry about coming on time. LOL It's just a different way of life I guess.
Thank you for your response in this discussion, and have a nice day!

Well, I am quite busy with my work and it entails conducting training and as well as handling seminars. Along with this, I have meetings to attend to as well as many other things that are related to my work. Without a to do list, I would lost track of my activities. So in my case, I really have to keep one and update it from time to time.

Wow, it sounds like you have a very busy job. I truly believe in to do lists. As a matter of fact, the day after I started this discussion, I made a huge to do list of some minor things that need to be taken care of in the near future. I also made a list of things before I went out to do my errands, and luckily I kept looking at it, because I had to go to a few different places and kept looking for some hard to find items at each of the different places that I went to that day. I finally managed to check off everything on my list... and it was a good feeling!

Hi kykidd,
I do not have any such list. I am a little bit free about my time and I had nothing much to do. I may had something to do on any given day but it is usually not many and I can remember it all. I do not think that I need to write it on the piece of paper.
But sometimes I make a list I went to shopping mall. I need to list out all the things that I need to buy. There are two reasons for that. One, I do not want to miss anything that I need because without the list I usually forgot to bought one or two things. Second, I do not want to buy things that not on the list because I usually bring a limited money there.

Hi there akuler, and thank you for your response in this discussion. It is a good idea to take a list whenever you are going to the market. If not, you might forget something, and then you will have to go back to the store again. This can get extremely costly if you live very far away, and you have to go two and three times a week.
I agree that it is not good to buy things that aren't on your list. Except, however, if you find a good deal on something that you use on a regular basis. In that case, you would be saving money in the long run by stocking up on the item when it is on sale.
Good luck to you, and have a nice day.

I always seem to have some kind of to do list going most of the time. I don't always follow it word for word. I do give it my best try though.

I think it is a good habit to be into. I hope that I can get that good habit back. It seems as if I rarely have spare time, in which I do not have something plaaned, so I think going back to the list is going to be very helpful.

I have this tendency when I have just a few items to pick up at the supermarket. I will usually just memorize the number, for example I need to get 3 things. Then when I go in the store, I say 3 things. I try to get in and out of the store as fast as possible, because I'm just not much of a shopper, unless I'm in the mood.

I always do if that thing is not included in my daily routine. Just to remind me to do it on a specific time of the day, I make a list and post it in the fridge's door. But if it's routinary, I don't need a to-do list, I know how to manage my time and I always do what I should do in time. But sometimes, when I'm a little bit busy and my schedule is affected, I am guilty that I forgot to do what should be done.

It sounds like you are one of those people who you can count on doing what they say they will do and when they say they will do it. Seems like I have a hard time finding people like that in my life, but it is glad to know that there are some people like that still around.
I know what you mean by getting busy, and forgeting a thing or two from time to time. Our office manager is on vacation, and I am trying to do some parts of her job in addition to mine. I was already busy, so, it isn't easy to keep up. As a matter of fact, even though I've been gone from work for over 5 hours, I just remembered something that I forgot to do today. Oh well, I guess I'm only human.

Sounds like we could both use a little organization. At one time I really had to use one. Then life kind of slowed down, so I really didn't have so much going on. Now that things are busy and hectic again, I guess I really do need to get back into the habit. It's actually a pretty good tool, and doesn't cost anything. :)
Thank you for your response in this discussion, and have a good night here on myLot!

Sounds like you have it all figured out werty. I am glad to hear that things are so easy for you. I think it is important to keep a calendar as well. I have been using the calendar on my cellular phone for this lately. I am getting used to the ones where I have an alarm set, but I haven't quite gotten into the habit of checking it on a daily basis for anything that doesn't have an alarm. Hopefully I'll get used to that in the next couple of months because it is quite handy.
Thank you for your response and have a great day posting here on myLot!

When I was working I kept a list. I don't remember the program, but it allowed me to enter a project, then I printed out this week and today. It even went into the monthly projects.
I would not have gotten things done on time without it.
Today I do not because my husband disagrees and I try not to get him going.

That's too funny sallyj. I am kind of new on my job, I've only been there since December. So far, I haven't found program on our computers to let me keep such a list. But, on my last job, I had Outlook Express with a calendar. It had a built in To-Do List in the calendar. You didn't have to date items to put them in there, but if you did, it seems like they would pop up on that day in addition to what was already on your List. I found it soooo handy.
Perhaps, I need to see if I can get that on my computer here at home as well.
Once, I made a long term goals list in the back of a notebook, or in a journal. Somewhat like a to do list. It was life goals. I came upon the list years later, and found that I had completed all of the goals. That was a pretty good feeling!
