How many times have you moved from one house to another?

I'm just curious cause it's a lot of work! We're going to get our house re-modeled this week and we've been busy packing stuff for storage. They're going to do the upstairs first so we'll be staying and sleeping downstairs until it's all done and then we'll move back upstairs when they're done so that they could do the downstairs afterwards. I'm already tired just thinking about it. This is the first house we moved into over 8 yrs ago from an apartment. How about you?

I used to move houses and apartments a lot when I was younger because my parents were divorced and my mom was always trying to find the best deal and bargain. Nowadays I feel like I live in three different locations. I live at Irvine(school), Sacramento (mom's place), and the bay area (dad's place). It was often hard to make friends in my younger years because I moved so frequently. I'm glad now I'm in a stable place even though I live in three places.

In the past twenty years I have not moved anywhere. Before this I was in the military, so I had to move a little mandatory of couse. I have helped people move which I do not like to do, because of all of the waiting that is involved. I really like it where I am. I live in the rural area where there is a lot of farming and wildlife. About three days ago I saw a flock of turkeys in my neighbor's field. I don't feel like moving anytime soon.

Hi there, I actually posted something close to this a few days ago. I am fixing to move from apartments into a house, and I've moved around a lot. My Dad was military when I was little, so he and my mom moved a lot too. I am hoping that this move will be at least a bit more permanent. As a single mom moving really is a LOT of work and stress. My boys and I are very excited about this move though, we are going into a very nice house, three bedrooms with two full bathrooms and a double car garage. We are going to be able to have gardens, and a sandbox for the boys. Also we are all tired of sharing a "yard" with bunches of other people here! ~Rachel

i've not moved any where for the last 4.5 yrs. but before that we moved a few times, namely cause of work stuff. but when i was still at school we only moved the once, and that was when my parents moved to one of their current properties. i still call it home, cause it was where i grew up.

I lived in 3 different houses up to age 18 when I went away to college. Although I still went home regularly for the next 5 years, I lived in 3 different rented places during that time. This is our 5th place since then but we have lived here for almost 23 years.

Yes, its a very long time... and we have accumulated so mcu stuff that it would be a nightmare to move in practical terms but, once i have cleared some of the clutter from my life, I would love to just get away from it.

Hi gicolet, We are staying away from the native and in a rented house. In rented house it is natural to move the house after a particular period of time. We have changed three houses for the last eleven years. We may move again shortly but just thinking about the shifting hazards, we changed the plans and staying with the similar house. We too have plans to buy one as our own but don’t know when it is possible. It will be great if we can move to our own house from the present rented house.

hello gicolet, from the year 2005 we have moved from one house to another thrice already. its because of my husband's nature of work. the first time that we moved is from my parent's house in my hometown to this new province where he was assigned. we just stay in that place for 1 year & 4 months then he was assigned to another town and we stayed there for 1 year & 8 months and from there we moved in here where we are living now and we are already staying for a year & 7 months...and i think sooner we will be moving to another town again... coz the longest that we stay in a certain place is just 2 to 3 years... its really a lot of work to move, from packing of things to trucking to re arranging again... and also its not easy to adjust again to the new environment and to the new people around... anyway i think i am already learning to enjoy this life that we have and i feel like i am becoming an expert already in packing our things!

As I remember i my family move or transfer from another places every five years and it never extend or short cut beyond those numbers. hence, i am often been transfer from another schools as a new enrollee or transferee and have only few lasting friendship involves and lost some communication over the years since the gap of the place and their current status gradually changes so it often result to unwavering friendship it never been permanent as most are temporarily friendship not so strong unlike others where friendship test by years it is rather short relationship. I am too tired of moving since have to sell all those properties then rebuilding again from the scratch so far their is n problem with it is the new adjustment again to new places and adopting to new environment and meeting strange people have to start over again just to be familiar with the places. And so far my life getting better now and my family plan to move soon in another house but it is in the same place and not in another unfamiliar cities.

I moved to new house after marriage and then in my marriage life I loved again once when we got a new house at new city. It was all fun living in a new plan, knowing new people and neighbors. By let you know that the most worst things I really don't like to do is packing and transferring things from once place to other. It is really a tedious job. What if things goes and settled down naturally..

I've owned three houses and have lived in at least 8 apartments that I can remember off the top of my head. Add the fact that I've moved home to my parents a couple of times in between apartments and homes, and you've got about 15 moves. And yes, I dreaded each move. When I was in my teens and twenties, moving wasn't so bad. I could move everything with a couple of pickups. Now bring out the moving vans and five husky guys...

Actually we are not staying in our native place...Where we are living currently is too far from that place..and we are living in a rental house..so very often we have to keep on changing the house one after another...because of some reason...Yeah! it is very difficult to make shifting but currently where we are living happen almost 10 yrs to live..

I've never moved houses before but I always have a room in my aunt's house because I visit there regularly and when she moved I moved most of my stuff to her house. It was hard work, so many items to move and it was super messy.
