China has introduced car park just for women which is a bit wider compared to the normal ones. Here is the link for that ..http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1239148/China-introduces-women-car-park--extra-wide-spaces-cater-special-need
Does it show that women cannot drive properly?Well some of the women I have seen drive the cars are not that good drivers.Whats your view?

Um, the link went to a lot of different news stories but that's okay, I'm not really interested in viewing the link to be completely honest. In any case, I think that it is gender biased to have such a thing has designated parking for women. I believe that women can drive just as good or as bad as a man can and that to classify women as bad driver's is biased!

Hi krupesh, if such wider car park are available in any new shopping mall or shopping center. I think this might be one of the unique commercial tactics to attract more customers to visit the outlets there. As far as we know there are always more housewives to do the daily marketing. And it's always much easier and more convenient to drive in and out of a wider car park. Yeah, this is also one of the way to please lady customers

The link did not work for me for some reason.
I think that this is discrimination against women and if this is truly happening, then it just goes to show that China are still a backwards country when it comes to the equality of the sexes. They have treated men and women very differently for a long time and it is not right.
From my personal experience with women drivers and parking. I would say that they are just as good a driver as men on the roads, but when it comes to manoeuvring in tight spaces, then they are not as good. This is just from my experience, but it does not mean that they should have larger parking spots just for them though!

Actually not everyone is the same. I believed too that women can't drive as good as men. But then I saw my girlfriend driving and man...she is Michael Stomacher dressed in woman! (only at the driving perspective :P)

Well, Id say Im a pretty good driver, I wouldnt say Im the best driver but Im a safe driver, Im always very aware of what is going on around me and I never take any risks, which may annoy some people waiting behind me if they think I should have over taken someone. However saying all that I will admit that I am useless at parking, I dont need any extra space though, i just make sure I park as far away from the other cars as possible, even if that means parking very far away from work or the shops, I do try to practise, I drive around finding a quiet car park to practise but Im just not that confident, although I still believe Im a pretty good driver, Im a lot better than some others I see on the roads, some Ive seen have nearly caused accidents, just yesterday I was driving along, well within the speed limit and came across someone who was taking over another car on a bend, so he couldnt see me coming down, I had to stop just to stop him crashing into me, and he just drove on like he was doing nothing wrong, wish there had been a police car behind me at the time.

Well, I have to say that i DO have some little problem in parking my car when the space is not very wide, but I usually succeed in some ways. It is a little bit insulting to declare women need bigger parking spaces. Some of my female friends drive even better than other male ones...

male and female elderly.
i had some relatives that drove into their 90s,and should have had their licence revoked a long time before that.they drove slow and were half blind!
it's not just women-i've seen some guys pull some pretty bonehead driving skills on the road.

My view, is there are good and bad drivers in both genders. Sadly, the statistics say, the majority of "careless" drivers are men. That is why where I used to live, boys, paid a higher insurance rate, then girls of the same driving experience.
There are really good drivers of both genders as well. I think, that to mark out bigger spaces exclusively for girls, is sexist, and highly prejudiced. I think, that if you are going to do something like that, you include parking in a stall as part of the drivers exam, and affix a notification to the cars of the people that failed, that states only they can park there....
Cheers.

Just my simple analysis here that women are important
in your place because they was given more space than men.
Usually women drives carefully than men that's why they
should have given space wider than men. Men are used to
drive thoroughly than girls. Womens actions are safely
motivated than men are straight forward and not afraid
to go whatever the way is.
This is a sign of valuing women thier place in order to have
them comfort moving and parking the area.

I think China came up with this law because of statistics of accidents made during parking. Maybe they have observed that in most cases it's usually the women drivers having accidents like this. For me it doesn't really state that women are poor drivers. It's just that they need to avoid having the same accidents happening over and over again. If educating and guiding women to drive carefully and properly worked in the first place maybe they don't need to make a law out of it at all, right?

If this happened in England there would be such outrage! But hasn't it been scientifically proven that women are worse drivers? (Please, I don't want to get into that argument!;)). I don't think this is a bad idea, but when you think about it that's really quite embarassing for the female drivers, isn't it? Anyway, good idea on principle I think, but should not be put into practise! Perhaps just make it into some male joke..

hi krupesh that is different of course the chinese are smaller in stature than a lot of other nationalities maybe they think since we are bigger we need more room to manuever our cars. this is odd.I think a lot of women I know are better drivers than their husbands. of course maybe they think women have a lot of stuff to carry and put in their cars, who knows?

hi krupesh,
china what they are not doing that is my question, they are beating in cell phone with enormous models same to the branded one and offering in less prices, just like that china is taking steps to help women, with car park separately for them only, that is new achievement, have a nice day

Hi krupesh, I am female but I am a pretty good driver. I always reverse park so I can easily get out, unless there is a signage that says Park Facing Wall. But most of my women friends are really not as confident even if they had been driving for years. But there is one I know who can out drive any one from the opposite gender. By and large, I think women do lack the spatial intelligence that is mostly endowed in the male specie. I concede as much to that. So let the Chinese allot bigger spaces for the women. No big deal really!

Whoever implemented this is a feminist. This is just discrimination. I want wider parking spots too.
