I rarely read anything out loud to be honest with you. At least fully and all of the way through. There might be certain times where I may whisper certain passages in something that I have to read, to clarify what I have read but other than that, I rarely read things out loud to myself. I am more of a silent reader, for me things soak in better that way. There's just something about me reading something out loud to myself that is going to annoy me pretty quickly. When you combine that with the fact that I am going to be reading it louder, yeah that can be frustrating. However, I have found that there are certain things that I have to whisper to myself for clarity but for the most part, I find myself just reading it silently and taking some detailed notes to help with my understanding when needed.

hi, I think it is always depend on the reader whether she understands more a text when he read it louder or read in mind. Sometimes, it is also depend on what kind of reading materials she is reading of. For me, i prefer reading louder. I was able to comprehend more a text when I was reading it aloud. Further, it also help me to improve the right pronunciation of every word.

For me it depends on the topic.I love speaking out loud to improve my pronunciation but if its a story or some kind of fiction stuff i would just read it in my mind.

Yes, during my student days I read loud when I'm studying especially when I'm memorizing my lessons. But if my subjects requires analysis I read it silently.

I do read quietly. I can understand better what I am reading or studying, when I read it quietly. It gives me time to process and keep it in my mind. And I hate hearing others reading out loud, so I don't want to do the same. I don't want to disturb others.

It really depends. I mostly read to my self silently. If I find I am losing concentration or just am not quite getting a passage, then I will read it slowly out loud. It helps to retain things that you hear as well as see.

I think the way of reading depends on what kind of book do you read. if you are reading poem, i think reading louder is best way; however you had better read in mind when you learn your class.

When I'm using the restroom at home, I would read aloud. I usually read magazines or novels. I would then act as if I were a narrator.LOL.Other than the restroom, I would read by my eyes and not by mouth. happy mylotting!

it really depends on whether one is comfortable reading through his mind or not. me, i usually read in my mind because in that way, i can concentrate on what i am reading.

I read in mind. I can't even comprehend something that's read aloud to me. I just have to read it silently myself.

Personally, it depends on what you are reading. If it is a short story/novel anything that is more than 3 pages I read in mind. If it is a poem I have to interpret, I read loudly. It tends to strike me more when I read loudly. That is just me. :)
