When I was young ,I started to learn about thsi wooden horse story and I think it is fun.But I when I grow up and learn this story again from the history class,it was a bit bloody to me.Few year ago, I watched this movie and found out that it was truely bloody and unnessarily battle. But I think as the world turns,so does human history. It is historybthat shape this world.Without diifferent events happen in the ancient time, then it won't be a world like that in our time.it is not a good thing to have war and seeing people get killed,no matter how interesting the story sounds like it.But anyway,it has been a part of human history already and what can we learn from all these lessons.Perhaps a lot and perhaps...nothing!what do you think?

war are always bloody. you can't call it a war if theres no blood. right now, at least they can emphasize more on the actual war, more blood, brutality and others... that the real thing.
about the story of the wooden horse, its a totally ingenius way to infiltrate and attack an enemy base. with little hope and decreasing number of men, they still find a way to conquer the impenetrable walls of troy.

I love that story and I particularly love the film 'Troy' starring Brad Pitt. There's a lot of wonderful history around this period of time and it's great to see how the people of that time handled things. The wars were quite brutal but I look at it as being a kind of education into the past and how the human race has improved in terms of becoming more civilised. I think the whole idea of creating the horse in order to penetrate the city was very smart! It's just a shame that the Tojans didn't look at the horse and treat it with some suspicion! Andrew

Well, I've known the story since childhood and the movie was really good. I mean it really portrayed what I read in the past. But, I still doubt in the Troy story did happen in the past. To m, based on the story, it sounds like a myth or folk tales. There was a documentary movie regarding this Troy legend and a few archeologist did some dig in a place which was believe to be Troy. The said troy is a small town, so there's no way a big war happened there. Well, my question is, how come troops in the horse statue conquered the entire kingdom. Wouldn't they be outnumbered? However, I know nothing about archeological stuff, anyway. Still, Troy is a wonderful story!

i think they exagerated in the horse size on the movie, maybe it was smaller, fitting only a handfull of soldiers

I think that one of the things that we realize as human beings is that the changes that take place in society are highly related to the mistakes and the triumphs that have happened in the past regarding human history. Yes, this was a bloody and unnecessary battle, but there have been other battles that have been like that as well. It is seeing those mistakes that have been made that have helped us to have fewer of these things happen in more recent history.

I always found greek history and mythology fascinating. Ya as child u dont see any harm in the story prolly because they leave a lot out but i must admit it was for back then a good strategy to surprise the enemy, altough many had to die that sux its always wrong to kill people. However nowadays its pretty to kill someone at least it seems like that, the papers are full of it so eventough that part is history i dont think it chancged that much just that it gets done on different ways but the outcome is the same
