I have never walked in my sleep & have never been around anyone that does, thank heavens. I think it would be spooky to be around someone that does that.

I have always heard that to. My grandmother use to tell a story about my uncle walking in his sleep. She heard a noise one night & got up to see what was going on & my uncle had my aunt who was young up in his arms walking w/her. When bigmama said something to him he threw my aunt in the floor. Thank heavens it didn't hurt her. I'm glad i have never been around a sleep walker.

Sleep-eating (going and eating something while you're asleep) is actually related to sleep-walking. I watched a special news segment about it once. I don't know anyone who sleep-eats or anyone who sleep-walks, but I do know that the world is a big place and all sorts of bizarre disorders are in existence. Sleep-eating and Sleep-walking are both in the parasomnia family of disorders. Sleep-eaters don't have any idea that they're walking around finding things to eat the same way sleep-walkers don't know they're walking around. They're not hungry, but the body is moving and active just like a sleep-walkers and they're doing things automatically. Some sleep-eaters eat anything that looks like food to eyes that are asleep. Including soap and prescription meds. Just like sleep-walking, it can be very dangerous.

I have never eaten anything in the middle of the night. However, I have heard of this and it seems like alot of females have this problem. They don't even know they are eating while sleeping. They start to gain weight and they don't understand why. Then they find stuff left out all night or dropping of food on their pjs. Then they realize what is happening. I don't recall what makes a person do this but I find it quite strange and glad I don't suffer with this and don't know anyone that does.

Nope, I've never been one that has gotten up in the middle of the night and eating when I'm not aware of the fact. I also know that I've never been one to sleepwalk either. The thing that I do know that I will do when I am sleeping and not be aware of it is talking while I'm asleep. I've been known to say some crazy things that I would never consciously say when I am awake and I only hear about them later when my husband tells me about it.

When I was about 12 years old I got up in the middle of the night and boiled a pot of water and filled a hot water bottle. I must have been cold and this was back in Scotland way before there was such a thing as electric blankets. Perhaps I did have a snack while the water was boiling. My family knew not to awaken me during sleepwalking as that could be dangerous.
I am still really afraid of sleep walking and perhaps wandering down the road in my underwear or driving my car. For this reason I am so pleased to have my dogs sleeping on each side of me as they will waken me up if I should sleep walk.

That's really funny and I wonder if there are really people who are doing that when they are sleep walking. I talk in my sleep but not to the extent of walking around. I think that would be scary if I did that. Its even scarier if I would have to go to the kitchen and get something to eat.
