Are there really runaway brides?

I'm asking this because I have seen the movie with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere called Runaway Bride. Are there really runaway brides and why is the resaon?

Yes there are quiet a few runaway brides. Some are forced to get married to someone they do not love, while some are scared to take the bold step. I think if a bride feels that she is not sure of herself she better not take the plunge. It is better not do something you feel you should not do rather than do it and regret it for the rest of your life.

There are alot of arranged marriages! More in other countries but I don't like that idea! People should have the choice to marry who they want to! Not have your parents or other people tell you who to marry! Alot of those marriages end up in divorce or are in unhappy marrieges forever! It is better to not do something you aren't comfortable then do it anyway and later regret it!

We cant say that arranged marriages are disasters. I know of a few arranged marriages that have been a success. Even love affairs that end up in marriages also end up in divorces. It up to the couple to make it work or not to work. In the case of a arranged marriage both parties should be given some time to get to know each other and then take the decision to marry or not to. Yet their are times when some arranged marriages do work in short notice. So it depends on how the couple is chosen for arranged marriages.

i don't know if this answer is right but there are runaway brides due to cold feet meaning they are scared of the future with there husband and they don't wanna face the fact that he loves her and needs her for the rest of his life or for a long time

I am sure there are runaway brides. I don't that. I still wonder if there are women who do it in the church or outside before a ceremony like Julia Roberts did in Runaway Bride! In the movie she did 3 times,if I remenber correctly! I'm sure it is for the best! If not alot more marriages would end up in divorce!

There could be many reasons why people get second thoughts on marriage.it is a commitment that should not be taken lightly. I know a lot of feelings come into play, is this right for me? Should I do this? What is expect4ed of me? Can I fulfill my obligation? And a lot more questions. These doubts make it easy to bale on a wedding at the last moment. Happens all the time.

I'm sure alot of women have doubts about marriage and that ia why they bale on weddings. Personality I only have known one women who baled a month before her wedding. She did because her finace got involved with a women he started helping out just by counseling her!
