How much time should be taken for EATING FOOD?

The slower you eat, the less you would eat because then you brain would notice that you are actually full. If you eat too fast, your brain would take some time to register and you will end up eating more than you should. I think 20 to 25 minutes is just fine,depending on the portion of food you are eating.
As long as you chew your food throughly, then I think it is good enough. I have a lot of friends who eats way too fast, one of them actually eats fast on purpose because he wants to eat a lot. And no, he's not overweight or anything, he's surprisingly fit and play sports everyday.

I heard somewhere that it is better to take longer to eat your food as you end up eating less, and therefor not putting on as much weight, apparently it takes 20 minutes for the brain to register that you have eaten, which is why some people overeat without realising it. So I try to take my time eating, dont know if it has made any difference to my weight although I definately enjoy the food more as Im actually taking time to taste it instead of just eating as fast as possible!

very true,meals should be taken as per ones own health or it will lead to obesity!i have seen many just having and having and are talking all nonsesnse on the table really its very irritating!

I don't take that long to eat.. ever!! I have heard you are supposed to chew your food like 20 times each bite. I have been working on that a little bit, but forget it most of the time. Maybe that would make me take longer to eat!

Really ?Well,I don't think a meal need so much time.As to me ,I just need 10 minutes to finish my meal.I know I should be slower,but I just can't help when I see the food.

True that everybody should take atleast 20 min for eating per serving. But do all people get that much time to eat ? I think many people take only 10-15min time as their lunch time is only for 25min - 30min max. As per the saying People who chew and eat will live for long. So whenever we find time, chew and then eat the food which will help in the digestion and keep us healthy.
