To me there is no difference between vegetarian and non vegetarian. But in India there is a group of people(Brahmins) who are to be vegetarians only. Not only that during some holy days many people avoid taking non-veg food. Not only hindus christians also have this pratice before good friday. Whats the need of omiting non-veg food? Is there any special thing about being a vegetarian?

I think there is a huge advantage to being vegeterian- in the US at least. A vast majority of the meat produced here is factory farmed and just laced with anti-biotics and unnatural additives. I believe that is a huge contributor to people's health, and not eating that factory farmed meat is beneficial.

I'm not sure if its true but I hear they don't smell as bad when they sweat as people who eat lots of meats. They probably don't need to bathe as much or use as much perfumes and therefore save money. Most of them are into this habit because of how they feel about animals so I suppose to them that some animals can live for another day is a benefit to them.

I wouldn't doubt it. I've seen so called medical people who post articles with lies about natural home remedies because they're scared of people not paying for their overly expensive toxic medications anymore so I wouldn't put it past others to recommend not doing something just because they lose money.

Maybe there cause there are already a lot of people who are deciding to become vegetarian. I think being a vegetarian is good cause there are a lot benefits and makes you healthier. There are so many diseases caused by eating meat but I havent heard of any disease cause by eating lots of vegetables.

Yeah, right.its like not just for health benefits that we made to choose being a vegetarian,it was also c0nnected to our respect in our religion and nature. And thinking of health and religion,it was really very go0d being a vegetarian than n0n-veg.,because of m0re benefits,self-discipline plus l0ng life.

Scientifically its proven that being a vegetarian will increase the life span. So if anyone wish to live a healthy long life can switch their food habits from non vegetarian to vegetarian. All vegetables and fruits has the natural nutritions which help in the metabolism and digestion.so eat healthy and live long.

Hiii there
These brahmins people were the people who's duties were associated with gods. They used to whims veda's in marriages and on religious festivals. In hinduism eating animal is consider as violence. It isnt strict about vegetarianism but it doe encourage it.Thats the reason people are not suppose to eat non veg on religious days. They are expected to be less violent towards nature and mother earth at list few days in a year.
Not just religious festivals but also there s this month where its generally breeding seasons of birds and animals. We are suppose to eat non veg and on those days as well.As if we eat grown up birds their children starve and die and thus it create double damage to nature.

i dont see any advantage, as long as you dont abuse of fried food a normal meal is enought for everyone. in fact i see a bit disadvantages all my vegetarian friends end up been pretty fragile physically to the weather or normal illness. i think that consume at least a bit of meat from time to time is always good.

I have been vegetarian for over 23 years and my children have been vegetarian since birth. I think we are all reasonably healthy, but I don't know if we are healthier than meat eaters. A lot of food poisoning seems to come from chicken and undercooked meat though, so at least we don't need to worry about that.
