Hi, ersmommy1. It is so good to see you back here at myLot! I still carry cash and I have money that is always deposited onto my two debit cards. I like either or option. It suits me for many different reasons. My husband on the other hand usually has money deposited into his checking account and money on his debit card, whenever he feels like it. And, he carries cash every now and then. If I carry cash it may be up to $100.00 anything higher will be in the bank. I saw just this week my husband had over $300.00 in his wallet from a job that he completed. I guess he was paid by cash. I like to have both on me just in case my debit card gives me problems. And having extra cash on hand makes it easier for me when paying for something. I like to see any money that I am getting back.

I usually only have cash on me if I know that I'm going to need it- for example, if I'm going to a yard sale or to buy something from Craigslist, or if I'm going to eat somewhere where I prefer to leave a cash tip for the waiter. I ought to at least carry a few dollars for emergencies, in case I need to ride a bus or something, but I don't.
One reason that I don't carry cash is that there are a LOT of panhandlers in my city. There's almost always at least one in the parking lot of the grocery store, and some are bold enough to come right up to your car to ask for money. It's not that I'm a stingy person- I really wish I could help these people- but I myself am barely making ends meet. If I gave money to every panhandler who asked, I wouldn't be able to feed myself. If I don't even have cash, then I don't have to feel pressured to give them something. I also don't have anything worth taking if one of them were to decide to pick my pockets or something.

most often, I use my debit card, when I can. But I still like to carry a little bit of change or at least a few dollars, when I can, just in case, just as a precaution. Just in case I need to use cash and I can't use my debit card. I try to have both my debit card and some change on me, when I leave my apartment.

I am one of those people who still prefers to pay b cash, that way I see the money exchange hands and I am not tempted to overspend. If truth be told I don't even have a credit card and I have never actually had one. I have used debit cards, but cash is my preference when out shopping.

How much ever advancements take place in the way we pay, it doesn't effect the carrying of cash. At least not till some more years. This is because cash is an important commodity. In my country not all shops accept cards. Only the bigger malls and stores accept them. The small shop next door kind of things do not accept them Moreover I dont think cards will be accepted on buses anywhere. So there are so many things which still needs to be done with cash.

I do still carry cash. Not alot, $20-$40 usually.
I work at a small alterations shop and we do not take debit or credit cards. There is a per transaction fee with the debit/credit cards, so our fees would have to go up if we got the debit/credit machine. We do have some customers get upset about it, but we have a sign posted that we take cash or check only.

It's been awhile since I've been used to carrying cash. I use my debit card for just about everything. The only time I'll get cash out is when we know we need it, like tomorrow we're thinking of going garage sale shopping, which I won't be able to use my credit card for. Although not having cash on hand usually helps avoid impulse buys, like those darn girl scout cookies outside of Walmart!!

I use debit cards mainly...I use credit cards when needed...and I always have at least 20 dollars on me...in case car breaks down...taxi fare...and I have actually visited one cafe that only accepted cash...so it is always a good idea to some real money with you

Good morning Ersmommy1 , i actually dont have a paypal credit card , hence here ten dollars doesnt mean that much , one package off ciggarettes and two coca-cola bottles , thats what i could buy with what i'd cash out from mylot , but in exchange i have my VISA card from work ( real job that pay real lol ) , so i always like to have around fifty euros cash on my pocket , two bills of twenty's and two bills of five's , and these are money to have around for the entire week , so when i stop at a gass station i dont have to carry arround my credit card everywhere , since i am a verry forgettfull person , and i happen o forget verry often thingz like keys or wallet on my car seat , already changed the credit card three times last year , hence i losted it on friends cars or friends places , but i cancelled imediatly so i dont get surprizes.
Have a nice day Ersmommy1

Credit cards or debits cards can be used for purchasing huge amounts. To have a cup of coffee I dont like giving credit cards. Not only that in our country most of the small shops dont have the facility of credit or debit cards. So for one days shopping I carry the cash.
