ok so when my mother said to to me today Erik you need to have some extra pocket money I said are you saying go get a job? she said no I am just saying do some extra work and just get some extra money for the little things you want. We just don't want you to sell drugs or do something illegal in that process. so that is why I am here. I used to be a facebook user but I can guarantee you that now that i have found mylot i will be using this alot more then facebook. What is your story? tell me. Also tell me why you think people have not stitched over to mylot yet.

for the first impression, people will see facebook better than mylot because they of the amount of the members. As for me, i when i use facebook i can find many lost in contact friends in last years and then it is now connected again in facebook. But when someone think to join other social website that is still grown up, they think that they will get difficulties in getting friends and communicating with someone new. So many consideration for people to join another facebook tipe websites.

Facebook and myLot serves different purposes and different target audience. I'm a member of both. I used to myLot a lot but I have lessened my time here due to other commitments.
Facebook allows me to keep in contact with people I know or used to know, my relatives, friends and colleagues. I have been in contact with people I have lost contact with for years. Facebook also allows people to have fun interacting in daily lives, to get to know one personally.
For example, you can post an update about what you are doing at that moment and you get responses from people you know. They give you encouragement and all that. You upload photos and play games. That got many people hooked.
In myLot, it is a forum where you discuss issues. There isn't much games here to play with. We give opinions to get paid. If your main purpose is to earn extra money, then you will like it here, because there is no such payments in FB.

neither. I'd spend my time on writing to increase my repertoire so I could earn passive income from them and need not slog at mylot, writing comments for money.

wow that was amazing. when you said it target different people I started to really think about. that makes a lot of scene though. so let me ask you a question though if u didn't have those other commitments would you invest your extra time into mylot or into facebook?

Mylot is for mature people who value their time while facebook is for immature people who likes to kill time. Ohhh sorry to those who love facebook but that is what I personally believe. I find no pleasure in facebook. At my age, I could not enjoy being updated about the activities of this and that friend in that page. I could not enjoy horoscope update which I don't anyway believe, I could not enjoy this and that friend inviting me to join this and that game or whatever...hah! I could not enjoy anything unprofitable and would kill my time for nothing. I think time is so valuable and should not be killed, it must be kept alive and be used up productively just as what we are doing here at mylot and in other profitable sites where we earn, learn and meet friends as well.

I like Facebook for the reason that it exists . . . I communicate with all my friends and family in one spot - I see their updates and they see mine. It has sort of taken the place of emailing for me. I'm there to chit chat with the people that I know in real life. And we chat about the stuff that is currently going on in our lives - not long, random discussions like we do here.
For me, myLot is a place where I can discuss these random things. The people I discuss with here are also interested in discussions. I can guarantee that most of my Facebook friends would probably not be interested in coming to myLot anyway, so it wouldn't work out anyway. Plus, this is a place where I can vent about some of those people on Facebook - ha ha - so I don't want them here . . . I like my anonymity on myLot. I'm not here for the money (and I can tell you that you won't get rich here no matter how much you write), I'm here for a different type of social reason than on Facebook.
Well, good for you for trying to make some extra money!

Facebook is more interactive. People actually go to facebook because they know the people that they are interacting with. Unlike here in mylot where you don't personally know the person you are talking to. The only perks here is that you can earn money in mylot not in facebook

I think more people also prefer facebook because of 1) the applications; 2) pictures uploading (I think the layout for pictures uploading is better for facebook than at mylot); 3) not everybody likes participating in discussions. On this third note, my boyfriend commented, 'Aren't the people there just being plastic? Commenting just to comment because each comment earns money.' Yeah, something like that.

yea I think that is a very big contributing factor but I think the number one thing is that they probably don't know about mylot.

some people do not know yet about mylot... just like me i have only heard about mylot a week ago.. so people are still using facebook til now because noone yet told them about mylot..but i already told mt friends about this..and one common question they ask me is "is it true?then how can earn money through it?"... so i just tell them that just respond to any of the discussions of your interest and post some discussions..just try it.. it is a proven and tested site..no hastle...so maybe in latter days they will start using mylot now and maybe some of them already does....

yea I just started using mylot today and I can already see how much I am going to enjoy it. I mean it is different from facebook but what facebook does not have is the whole thing that mylot has going on.

I have been with mylot for over a year now. Yes, it is a great way to earn a little extra money, however, as far as a networking situation, not to sure about that. You have to admit that Facebook does have a way of connecting to friends that you haven't seen or heard from in quite some time. Mylot however, unless we help the creators change the environment in some aspect, I think that given it is a discussion board, it is a different world.
Here we each get the opportunity to voice our opinions about different topics and see how others view the same topics. We also have the opportunity here to create topics and see how others may feel about them.
Yes, it does take time to earn enough, however, in my opinion, every little bit helps.
I really enjoy seeing what others have to say. The other reason for my madness in being here on Mylot, it is a great way to effectively work on my writing skills. I am a writer and work for several different websites doing so. This gives me the freedom to work on different topic ideas and see what I can come up with.
I hope you find the discussions enjoyable and enjoy your time here with mylot!

thanks so much for your input on that I totally agree with you on that. i think though if facebook started the same thing that facebook does then I can almost guarantee at least half of the people here will go to facebook.

Well, first and foremost, Facebook was created to get you reunited with your former highschool or elementary or your classmates to be exact, or when you are still studying. Second, it will give you some ideas about the whereabouts and what they have become, so definitely, all those long lost friends and buddies can now be traced or can now be located.
There are several reasons why i have been using facebook for quite a while. for one, is to be reunited with my former high school friends and pals. Second, is to know where are they and where can they be contacted and how. Third, is to let me know what have they achieved and how can they be a role model to me and to my other classmates before. Lastly, i am using facebook to help others and to whom i know needs more attention and more of my help.
I also like my lot for some reason or another. They are so interactive and take note with no nonsense responses or there's no just mere hi's and hellos. Second, i like mylot because it can stimulate your minds to create a wider view and perspective to a certain topic or discussions and can even broaden you mind to a certain discussions. Third, it can help you create a sense of respect and sensitivity to others answer as well as creating respecting each other's diversity through giving opinions and reading opinions that are not the same as ours. Lastly, i like mylot and open it a lot because your views and opinions are not wasted coz it's with pay.
Truly, facebook can be called a social network but MYLOT is far more than that because it is not just a social network of which you can earn friends but rather it can also take you and your knowledge and your opinions go further and be heard by the different human beings who are members of these network.
MYLOT rules!

I am new to mylot and believe me this site has impressed me alot.I think if all the people know about mylot , then they will definitely leave facebook . Mylot is a place where we can interact with anyone in the world. Now that is cool . I heard hat facebook is going to ask money. If that is the case thaen everybody will stop using facebook .

yea I use facebook and that is what I heard to. I think that if once facebook does start asking for money then we can direct people towards here and it could be through the referral method. does that sound like a good idea?

My opinion on why people have not switched over yet, is because they do not know that it is there. I didn't. I found My Lot because, I was searching for ways of making extra money on a search engine. I'm am still a Facebook user. And, I think why people are attracted to Facebook is because of the games, for one, and, of course, the social networking. A lot of my co-workers and my church are on Facebook. I got into Facebook and My Space because of my co-workers.

I think facebook pribably had the best marketing strategy. Everyone is able to connect to other on facebook at a level which MyLot hasn't gotten to yet. I am new to MyLot as well and I don't know yet, but I think I will be using both equally. But I will definitely be keeping in touch with my friends more on facebook than here. I think the money incentive makes it hard to be yourself all the time and be completely comfortable sharing a lot of the information you otherwise do on facebook.

I use Mylot way more than Facebook. I actually deactivated my Facebook along time ago but I only started it up again because some members of my family tend to post their important stuff on there instead of picking up a phone and I'm tired of being the last to know anything. I'm honestly not into the whole wall to wall posting this and that thing especially since everyone on your list can see whats being said. Those people that haven't come over to mylot yet probably just don't know about it yet or they're skeptical. They'll get over here in time.

I've been wondering that ever since I started using mylot. Facebook is a multibillion dollar company and they could easily be paying their members at least a little bit of revenue because the facebook users are the ones that are generating all of the money for the facebook owners. You should check out peoplestring.com it's a social networking site like facebook and you can link your facebook to it. It pays you money for your activity as well. I'll add you as a friend and message me if you would like the link.
The only reason I can think of why people choose to use a site like facebook opposed to a site like mylot that pays you for your activity is because facebook users generally have their actual real friends on there where as I don't know any real people here on mylot.
If you would like any good links to some other good earning websites message me when I add you as a friend. Have a good one

Facebook and myLot, they both serve different purposes. There are many differences and yet a number of similarities between them. But both are equally great I would say. It's how much time you would like to devote to each. It's how much you want to get, out of it.

I think people don't know about mylot as much as they do facebook, but I love facebook and I love here wouldn't change or trade anyone of them, they are my gems. The plus with here however is that you make money while doing what you love.
