Have you ever been to the most scary flight of your life? I had been to a flight twice that scares me most. One was in an international flight. Ten years ago, I was traveling for a christmas vacation to my home country and that flight had a stopped over to hongkong. There was a turbulence due to bad weather condition a typhoon was expected that night. Most of the passengers were all asleep, and plane just suddenly dived down, I think that was in preparation to flight landing. Passengers woke up, shouted coz we never expected such event. Another scary flight I had was just last december 2009 traveling in a local flight. On way to landing too, there was a turbulence also and the plane dived down, this time all passengers shouted and prayed. This is most scary than the first one I experienced. I really never imagine such thing was happening to me again. Thanks to God the plane landed safely but my knees were all shaking down til I reached my family waiting for me at the arrival area . Could you share yours?

I tend to get nervous on planes. On a flight to Hawaii from Chicago we had to turn around right away because we had a bird hit the engine. I've also had really bad turbulence on my way to Europe once. The "No Smoking/Fasten Your Seatbelt" sign fell from the ceiling. :/

Hi Sheanne, It's like a very clear flashback....Definitely YES! It was my 1st International flight,we had a stop over in Hong Kong & we left like 1 1/2 hours...above the sea...suddenly the pilot told us we need to go back to refuel...everyone was just wondering why..haven't we put fuel earlier but everyone are just staying calm...I was calm too...until I saw the plane's wing has lots of smoke...and it's on fire...our pilot is really calm,he keeps telling us not to worry...& that time,I didn't panic, instead I prayed & keeps asking...I still have a lot of things to do & i'm too young to die & my family might not see me anymore..not even my body...but we actually reach the airport back safely & you cannot imagine the scene below..It's like a real life movie - ambulances & police cars are waiting for us...anyways took me another 8 hours to board another plane & reach my destination & reunite with my family...Thank God for that...

Your experience was ever so frightening. Oh my goodness I would have been terrified. I haven't had everything like as scary on any of the flights I have been on. I traveled on a plane from London to Sfax via Tunis. On that flight it was very turbulent indeed. I was sick a few times and got the very strong ear pain. Due to all the sickness and pain I dropped my immigration card. It was quite a stressful flight. Another time I was just getting on my flight. I think it was the one from Hong Kong to Perth. Every passenger was handed a newspaper and front page news was concord crash. It was terrible when I saw that picture. It was scary reading for the flight down under. My scary time at the airport was in Israel. I saw lines of people waiting for interviews. I was nervous at time so they took me away for a detailed baggage search and further questions. It took a long time and I almost missed my flight. I felt so happy to be told sorry and get on the plane back home.

Some years ago I was flying from Spain to Denmark. We kept on flying around and around, and we were told that there was a problem and we that we couldn't land. It felt like a really long time, people were scared and a lot of people were praying. I was praying, too, I tried to stay calm, but I kept on thinking: "What is going to happen. How is this going to end? Am I going to die now?" The pilots handled the situation and after a long time they decided to try to land the plane despite the problems. They weren't able to land the plane the way that they normally do, I was scared and the landing was very unpleasant, but we got back safely and that is the only thing that matters. My body was shaking when I was finally able to leave the plane, and I thanked God for saving us.

I had one scary flight when my entire family was coming home from Boracay. As we were approaching the airport, the plane suddenly dropped so low that all the passengers were left hanging in the air. Take note that it was a sunny day in summer. That was scary because it meant that our pilot was incompetent who could not even make a smooth landing.

As far as I am concerned every flight is scary. I am seriously afraid of flights. I travel by air only if there is no other way possible or when it is case of urgency. My heart keeps on fluttering all through the journey and I become normal only after I come out of the airport. I seriously am afraid of flying. This is because you might survive in a road accident, may be swim to safety in a ship wreck but what can you do on a plane except shout? Watching too much of aircraft crash investigation on discovery night have caused this but I know I can never get out of this.
