Last week I attended marriage function..It was my friend's sister marriage..He invited all of our friends and we all went..This is the first time I attended marriage function with friends..We had a great time there...Really when we entered the hall all watched as something different because we were some 15 guys entered at the same time..All got shocked....Then we sat quietly for sometime..Then we started our work..We just kidding each other..when one our friend arrives we all stood up..and laughed at him..the whole crowd watched us and was laughing. We had really a great time......Then we all went for the dinner and ate a lot..
Next my sister's marriage is nearing..I think I will have the same moments again..can't able to wait..
Whether you had some moments like this..?

Hi Gany,
I am surprised to know whilst living in Chennai, India. You attended marriage function first time.
We are very social people thats why we enjoy that kind of functions etc. These are the moment where you meet all your friends, relatives and others to enjoy.
If you are fine tune with your friends then you can enjoy every single moment. Whenever we all friends gathered, whether it's a function or not. we enjoy very much.

Well...I am thinking is is rather difficult to attend a marriage function without friends! Even those who have civil marriages have to have witnesses to make it legal in most areas of the US. However, here, the sort of thing you describe would be called a stag party, which you can read about on Wikipedia if you like, and the female version of a stag party is called a bachelorette party.
Sometimes they get quite raucous.

Hi Gany,
It is nice to know that you people were the centre of attention in the marriage of your friend’s sister. It is quite natural to get more attention because you all were new to the place and those people first meet you and you were lot in number too.
I think I attended only one marriage as friend’s sister and that also with a large group of friends. We were all girls and got much attention in the function. We got special attention at the time of feast also. I am happy to recollect the memories about my college friends (that time I was doing my B.Com course) and thank you very much for providing and opportunity to remember all those wonderful moments.

Oh you seemed to have really great time in that wedding day! And another wedding event is coming your way hah! I hope you also have a great time on that day. I myself do enjoy attending marriage functions. I love to see couples saying their marriage vows. I found them really adorable in my sight because it gives back the memory of my own wedding day. How about you have your experienced this great event of being married?

Hi Gany,
i attended weddings with friends and relatives many times. I used to be the flower girl when i was still a kid until i reach my teens being one of the bridesmaid and maid of honor. now, i have several godchildren for wedding. it's nice attending weddings. it's a great time to meet the family of the newly wed couple. this is a privilege for us friends to witness the vow and celebrate with them as they start their new journey in life as couple.

The last wedding I went to was my friend Enna's in 2007 in Las Vegas. No wait, there were 2 in 2008 in Arizona, my two nieces, forgot about that.

I have not attended many weddings. The last wedding I recall attending was my own.. which was 7 years ago. I've been invited to a couple of weddings I did not attend.

Aha! So, you are following a bit of OUR OORU KALACHAARAM???? Ha! I can imagine this! But, you see, my elder brother is the same like you people. If any function is there in any of his friend's house, their whole gang used to be there and VOILA, you can get all the info about the function in Facebook within minutes. I think you are enjoying your time because your age is like that!!! And, an advance happy married life to your sis as well.

Congrats that you experience that one, because when I experienced it I am always in part of the ceremony. So I need to act very professionally in the whole event. But I love doing it. Just like attending the wedding of my friends and relatives. I am always a bride maids and never been a bride. I hope its like that.

yes, i have already attended wedding function with friends.. it was on the month of january this year.. almost all of our officemates/friends in our section/group attended the wedding.. from the travel to the venue of the wedding we all had fun really.. we really enjoyed the moment because all of us are all first timers to visit the groom's hometown.. we went strolling the whole downtown, went having some videoke, and all went exploring the place.. and at wedding date, we were all, all girls, were dressed with make-up and we were not used to it, so a little shy... we were shy also because maybe the attraction would be to us not to the bride as we were all dressed, really dressed, as if we were the bride's maid and the like... we really enjoyed that moment...

In workplace it is common for us. All of us arrange for a van and go together for functions of our colleagues. We start joking and laughing from the van itself and it will be enjoyable. Being with friends is always a good experience.

Oh, that was an event full of happiness! I wish we can have that too. Here in the Philippines, there are only few people who enjoy that kind of event. Couples here are now being wed by themselves "short time" in Sogo Hotel, Anito Inn, Victoria Court, and the likes.
