Does caffeine really trigger and heal migraines at the same time?

We are all aware that caffeine can trigger migraines. But we still drink it anyway. But so as I found out, that the main ingredients in some of the prescriptive drugs for migraines is Caffeine! That's where the name "Cafergot" comes from. (Source from Reader's Digest). As for myself, I try to avoid coffee. But when migraine strucks, I will usually drink thick, black coffee to ease the pain. What say you, migraine sufferers? Do you totally avoid coffee?

I have headaches every day...not sure if they migraines or due to my sinus problems or something else but coffee doesn't make a difference I don't think.
Either way my head hurts.

Hi, sinus can cause headaches but usually it's not migraine. Experts call it sinus headache. I also have that once in a while. I'll have headache and I'll start to sneeze and my nose blocked, and my eyes become watery. The pain usually is spread out all over your head, especially on forehead and eyes.

I don't think that my migraines are triggered with coffee, at least I've never noticed a connection. Most of the time my migraines hit in the morning before I've even had a cup of coffee. I do find that the caffeine in the coffee helps lessen the pain from it though. Caffeine dilates the blood vessels, so the dilation helps ease it. I don't avoid coffee.

I suffer from migraines and if I try to cut out caffeine that will trigger an attack. I have caffeine every day but in small amounts. I still get migraines but they are triggered by other things.
