before when i was in college i became more friendly to everyone and everybody. But during high school i was so ashamed and very timid and i always like to vow my head...now i change my style i only smile to the people whom i'd think my friend and willing to have friendship with me, i don't want to smile with those having a higher level of impression to themselves, because they are not worthy.

No offence but i don t think this is something that everyone notice. I m pretty sure i don t remember if anyone smiled at while i was going to buy something or stuff like this (whenever i m not driving). Maybe they do, and for the moment i realise that but if you ask me 10 min later if X person, or the girl who sold me the newspaper smiled at me i won t be able to be sure of it. Unless it s an "exagerated" smile or something. So i don t see how that would help me but i see the point of everyone beeing happy and smiling around you = boosting your morale abit too :) Not totally agree but it can t hurt either :)

yes its not a case nowadays you cannot smile to everyone walking on the street, there are mostly people with straight faces hurrying to somewhere. They will never know you just passed a smile to them. The only smile i get from the persons who want to sell me something ,they are selling their smiles too.

I know that people maybe preoccupied especially in a busy day. Just pass the smile. You can never know who might be needing or who you might meed down the road :) Smiling sells because it makes the possible buyer feel good of him/herself. Happy MyLotting :))

Everytime I meet with people, smiling is the first thing that comes up in my mind. Shyness hinder me to talk or make conversations to people. In order to overcome that shyness, smiling is what I do. But there are times that smiling that should be in a proper manner in a right place.

No...I have a bad experience at smiling to someone you just met. They think your pervert, crazy or whatever. So I just smile to my friends or workmates when I meet them. Smiling to strangers is a no. Well if strangers in myLot and internet I can smile freely like this :)

it depends on my mood really...some days I just dont feel like associating with anyone but if I have to go out I generally pay no mind to others, do what I need to get done so i can get home..Other days though (and these are the majority) I most certainly do..I also say things like "Good morning", "have a nice day" and so on...its just what I'm familiar with largely from being Canadian born and raised LOL

Canadians are one of the most nicest people in world. I smile everyday regardless of place and time. You don't want others to feel bad when you are frowning or angry. Just smile :) Happy Mylotting :)

Yes, I always do. I just love smiling at everyone I've come to meet for every single day. I don't really care what would they think about it. But i just love doing it. It's just that it makes my day so much happier whenever I smiled at them.
HAPPY MYLOTTING!

I use to, but then people gave me too much crap for it. People look at you like you're crazy, or people say "why do you smile so much?" So I just stopped smiling at people.

Indeed having a habbit in always smiling might hurt too. Since either you get yourself viewed as a "strange" person, or you might end up smiling at the wrong moments when it s not appropiate. And let s be realistic is there a reason every second of your life why you should be smiling ? If you smile for no reason, what do you do when you actually have a reason to smile ? I think i smile becomes more important when used for a good reason rather then smiling all day like you re the guy/girl presenting the weather or something :) Take care.

I think you have to start smiling again, redhotpogo. You say that you smile alot because, it is better to smile than frown. It helps other people. Medically speaking: It takes less nerves to smile compared to frowning. Stay happy, happiness in contagious :) Happy MyLotting :)

I do it too. I just smile because it makes me feel good and I know that it will brighten up at least one person's day. I used to not smile much earlier at strangers. But once I started working, things changed. I smile at everyone now.lol. I don't lose anything, so why not smile, feel happy and look happy.. Oh and also, make others happy!Have a great day and keep smiling ;)

I don't smile at everybody I meet, it really depends on my mood or situation. Where I come from people usually don't go around smiling at everyone, people would think you have a problem or try to flirt or so :) Here it is more common, if you look at people they usually smile and greet you so I do the same, but sometimes life is just to busy to do that all the time. It really depends.

Well good job, brina27 :) People aren't smiling that much now because of the stress they are having recession, debt, and other factors. The least thing we can do is send them a smile and hope they feel better :) Remember smiling is contagious so continue passing it on :) Happy Mylotting :)

I think that there is nothing that comes as a harm for smiling at people, but you can gain a lot by smiling at the people that you meet. That said, I do smile at the majority of the people that I meet. You never know when that one simple smile that you share with a person is the only good thing that has happened in their day. It is nice to think that you could have helped a person have something memorable about their day.
