This thanksgiving will probably be last thanksgiving I will be spending with my grandfather. Two weeks ago he went into the emergency room, yesterday he final went home, but with hospice. My family found out he only has between 2 to 6 months left. Until now I always thought my grandfather will be with us for at least 10 years. Until recently his health has been great, and he's been very active. All that is left for my family is to spend the rest of my grandfather's time with him, try to make him more comfortable, and be happy.
I remember as a kid he used to take me out every weekend for breakfast, and then grocery shopping. He would always go into the butcher shop and ask me to wait by the corner of the shop while he chat with the butcher and by something. Now that I'm all grown up, I try to have breakfast with him as often as possible. Now it's not enough.
For everyone out there, I urge you spend more time with your family, especially if they are elderlys. Every minute you spend with them is precious.

I'm sorry to hear this. It's a good story about why the holidays are important. They are for spending time with your family. I think people forget that.
