Are you kidding????? 3 to 6 packets of chips everyday is a disgustingly huge amount even for an adult! And you seriously have to ask what to do? It's very easy. STOP buying chips and STOP giving them to your child! YOU are the person who is responsible for what your child eats. You need to feed your child foods that will support her nutritionally and help her to grow healthy. If you need help figuring out what a healthy diet for your child is, you can always consult a doctor, a nutritionist, or you can even find information about child nutrition on the internet.

I can only hope that by "3 to 6 packets of chips" she was referring to the snack size packets and not the actual full-size bags of chips. Either way, people are absolutely right when they advise to stop giving your 2 year old that many chips. At that age, it's solely up to the parent to provide their child with the correct nutritional foods, all it takes is a little common sense. If you 2 year old wanted to start smoking and drinking you wouldn't just hand that stuff over to them now would you? Just because a child wants something doesn't mean you have to give it to them is my point. The child may cry and scream for them but stand your ground, she's two, she'll get over it.

I presume that your 2 year old is not going out and buying them herself so you or somone else must be giving them to the child in the first place. All thats needed in that case is for you to excersise some parental control over what your child is eating. One thing is certain, she is consuming far to much salt from these snacks and that will lead to serious health problems later on. So you need to be firm and deny her these snacks in the future.

Hello mjanakha and welcome to myLot. I hope that you enjoy myLot. as to your problem with your daughter and her addiction to salty chips. Who is bigger you or her. I know she can probably scream the loudest and longest but you have to some times put up with a child's tantrum to get the results you want. First never till a child that something is good or bad for them. It drives them to those you clam are bad because the bad can have a more appealing taste. Next giver her a choice in her new foods.
Sweet potatoes or (kamote) can be eaten raw as well as okra, string beans eggplant and any other vegetable in your area.c If you give her a choice she will feel empowered. But only giver her a choice of two at a time. Here in the United States we would probably give baby carrots, red, green or yellow bell peppers. try to find sweet tasting vegetables to start with. Good luck and hang in there you are bigger and besides your the one responsible for your daughters future health. but don't feel guilty if it takes time to retrain her.

Oh my, yes, you better do something or she will definitely become obese. Something I find all children love are cucumbers! Peel the skin off of them, although some leave it on for nutritional value, I think for little ones it is better to take it off and slice it up, sprinkle just a tad of salt and maybe a little ranch dressing. I'm sure she will take to this just fine.

That's simple, you just stop giving them to her. You are the parent and you are the one who should be controling the types of food she eats.

I think you better give them healthy foods like fruits and vegestable instead of chips because it chips contains salt that can cause high blood pressure, regulary eating chips may face an increased risk of cancer in later life. You have to avoid that that kind of food.

Too many chips really is not good at all for a two year old or for anyone for that matter. As a parent you should not allow your child to have 3 to 6 packets of chips. It could lead to being overweight and it is also giving your child bad eating habits. You should instead offer fruits and healthy snacks. Potato chips are ok once in a while but not all the time. He might not like it at first but he will adjust and he will end up loving the fruits just as much.

your daughter's body must be needing a certain chemical which the chips can satisy, thus the cravings or addiction to such.
If she will ask for it again, don't always agree with her. Offer an alternative like her favorite fruits or beverage. Gradually try to decrease her consumption by not giving her the full content of the pack.
It must be the taste that she loves so much, perhaps, that drives her to eat chips. Convince her to eat a similar tasting food. If she like corn chips, then offer corn in the cob or make her a dessert which has a corn in it as the main ingredient.
Goodluck.

LOL I am surprised why you permit her to consume 6 packets, it is not only bad for health but costly, well try to give her home made snacks instead and reduce the chip consumption gradually, you can get potato and banana chips and fry at home in good qualty oil..
Thank you so much for this nice discussion, cheers
God bless you.
