Hi basqui, I have a brief read on all of them of course if I have considerable time. I read and I keep the ones which interest me. I would feel uneasy to see the piling up email notification after staying away from internet for days. Yeah, they make my mailbox so messy as I find difficult to pick out the ones which are from people in real life. It it more important than the discussions. It's worse still to see long list of discussions from the same persons as well. I do think of to inform my loved ones and friends as well as colleagues, and others to send emails using another my another account. But I find it's not so convenient as I have the habit to work on pc using several tabs at the same time. usually three minimized pages on the screen. I usually read the new ones from the top first. For I can delete them straight away after every reading. And I can read the next which will pop up instantly after the deletion Happy posting!

I just have interest to share my feeling and opinion in those topics which I have ideas to discuss with. Yeah, I care much whether it's an old or a new one. A hot topic or the one with no response

Oh, we have the same preference sometime but sometimes i reverse the date order of the emails in order to display the old ones first. But I lazily respond to some on days that are hot.

Maybe, but I guess I'm a little ocd or something. I'd rather do the older ones first, make them wait their turn...

Yeah, priorities as what was mentioned above. Don't you think new ones are more prioritized since they are still fresh?

HI baquii, usually I answer the new ones first. Then I try to start and answer the old posts. right now I am stuck with a lot of unanswered old posts, some date back to September last year.

Hi baquii I have a long list of friends on my lot. Unfortunately I am not always active as I do wish therefore I dont have much time on my hands to participate in discussions. Therfore they do accumulate as times goes by and I do have some discussions that have been here for over six months waiting for me.

OH, it's that many huh? I think my unanswered mails are a week old and not months. Maybe you should start catching up with those mails now. It's really a hard time responding to many mails, and in my case I have slow internet connection so it sucks.

I try and get through them starting from the newest ones. I sometimes get stuck though and I never seem to catch up. Even one day offline for me gets me into trouble. At the moment I still have some older notifiers from two months ago that are awaiting attention

I'm sorry that you have a slow connection. I would share some of mine with you if you were nearer as it is very fast. Sometimes they do upgrades but they do it dutring the night so that we are not affected. I never delete anything without opening it first. Sometimes I get back really late with comments on discussions but I reckon late is better than never

The unanswered mails for me are week old and not months. When I get really lazy, I just delete the old ones and just respond to two days or day old notifiers. My net connection is really slow for some time so even if I try all my efforts, the connection wouldn't cooperate. I hate my ISP but couldn't do anything to change it since it's the only available one in my place.

I;m having hard time catching up for now since I'm still busy these coming days. I only get online mostly at night and in the morning. And it's the time when the net connection is good.

haha =D I'm already used to piling up of mails inside my inbox.. hehe ^_^ MOst of the time, i will be responding to the old ones 1st before moving up to the currents ones.. BUt there are also times, whereby i will do a mixture, so that i wont get too bored of just responding to all started new post, if there happened to be alot, and especially started by the same person.. hehe

Hi basqui! I mix it up personally. Sometimes I'll do it from the top, sometimes the bottom and sometimes it depends on the email itself!

i keep my inbox full as long as notifications are coming while i was not able to get online. when i come back after 2 or 3 days, my inbox will be a mess. but i keep reading all of them. i read them and if the topic catches my interest, i still respond. if there are posts that do not interest me or something that i cannot relate, i will just delete them. i still go on the oldest going to the new ones.

Yeah, same with me. But now I only activated notifications from few friends since I couldn't respond much nowadays so I tend to give responses on really interesting topics from friends who really are good starters.

I appreciate how you feel because I have just caught up with a huge pile of notifications! I always attend to the older ones first and keep going from there until I eventually catch up. It is overwhelming to have so many emails to catch up on but I still like receiving them although I do get behind at times. I like to see what my friends are up to.

I think I respond to a hundred everyday so if I don't get online then I expect piles of notifications from mylot. Even if I catch up to more than a hundred on ths day, there will be more of it tomorrow. It's a good thing though rather than bad, more earnings.

Hello, Baqui.:) If I haven't had the chance to check my emails for a period of time, the moment I open my account I will surely look for the ones which needs prompt reply or are urgent and important such as mails from an employer or a writing article request, etc, etc. Then, I will go through the mails from friends or relatives. Lastly, I'll check the not so important mails. I am sorting my mails not by dates but by the weight of their urgency. PrioritiZing, as what I call it.:-)

hi basqui, People do have many choices on how they are going to respond in their mails. I personally answer each of them according to how it was piled up in my inbox. For, It is my way of giving them all the attention I can give in imparting my replies. It is also my own way of showing my appreciation to all of them, regardless if they are my old friends or not. It is a form of respect for me and thinks how would the person feel if I am about to make such acts. Happy mylotting..

Yeah, respect for each other is needed for us to have healthy discussions. I respond to discussions I can relate to first. If some topics are not clear to me, I don't delete it instantly, I just have more time on thinking of my response and get back to it when I have a good idea already.

i have the same problem as u with that except i have about 16,000 notifications from mylot that i still havnt responded to.. i guess ive just been slacking off for too long and i still have ones that i havnt responded to since like 8 months ago. i usually respond to old ones first because that will make it so that u know which discussions get deleted

Sweetie, we noticed that you are missing. Playing with someone AGAIN?? But to answer your question. Start with the older ones, they are there the longest, aren't they? TATA.

Looks like we are sailing in the same boat as my daughter is back home for her summer vacations and I am not getting the time to respond to mylot discussions so going back to your question usually I just browse through the discussion and whichever I can respond to faster I do that and rest they pile up as I am getting just about half and hour and sometimes dont get that time also as I get dog tired and just want to hit the bed but as I am addicted so just quickly respond to some and looks like you are the lucky one today.

I would response my New mail and the mails are from my contacts and Important persons only. Then, only I respond the old mail and the mails from unknown persons or others

I'm realyy pleased that I found this discussion. This is my first post on mylot and I didn't realise I would get lots of notifications. I have a couple of email addresses. One I use for signing up to sites. The other one I keep for close friends and work stuff. When I log in I usually start at the top of the list and work my way down (so I start with the new emails) I try to delete stuff as I deal with it. Then I hit the spam folders and quickly scan it to see if anything important slipped through. I delete all spam as quickly as possible. Once a month or so I try to have a 'spring clean'. I give myself a little target - maybe to delete 10 emails - so that they don't keep building up. Well, for my first post this was pretty easy. I'm off to investigate the rest of the site now and to check a few settings. Good luck sorting the emails Jules
