There are some meditations where it is NOT thinking, but for beginners it is best to describe it as concentrated thinking, where you are concentrating on one thing and one thing only, and not having your mind go all over the place like it usually does. I like the site http://zenhabits.net/meditation-for-beginners-20-practical-tips-for-quieting-the-mind/ - it gives a beginner good advice in my opinion, but then I am a bit partial to zen studies.

Well meditation is best for any stress and it has huge benefits for a human health. One such is pranayama, which calms mind and gives control to balance and handle stress. Pranayama is breathing exercise, where u have to close one side of nose inhale quickly and exhale slowly and vice versa..it has more types.

Ok! in good and realistic view... if you know how to think problems then it is called as WORRYING and if you think happy and good things then it is called MEDITATION... so if you know how to WORRY then you know how to MEDITATE.... Chill
