Usually, someone earns money when he or she realize a work and get it payed and you save money when you don't spend your earned money or you spend as less as possible.
But, for some people to save money is a kind of earning.
What about you? Do you think 'saving' and 'earning' is the same?

If you save money , the only way you earn it is by the interest. So if for instance you saved xxxx number of dollars and you get .x interest each month, that .x interest is what you earned. So in reality they are not counting the money they put in the bank, they are counting the interest they earned.

All depends if I save money in my checking account then I will earn the intrest on it. So under that umbrella, saving = earning.
But in the grand picture of things I am going to buy what I need so just becuase I hold onto a couple of dollars, I am not really earning anything.

For me earn means spend. But it does not mean that the things what i don't need i will buy it. It means what i need hardly the money should be spend on it.
And yes some time i save some money. I don't think so that saving and earning is same.
