Do Babies Really Care if Their Diapers are Absorbent?

I was watching a commercial for pampers cruisers baby diapers and they should this baby sitting on the floor looking up at their parents talking to them about how they wanted a better diaper and that the one they were wearing was soggy. Is this really true? I mean I can see the mom being concerned about keeping the babies bottom dry, but how would the baby really know that it was an issue?

lol. I guess they really don't care. If they did they wouldn't need a diaper to begin with. Never really cared for pampers I always picked huggies over them.

I thought my son would care more, but I don't think he does. He is perfectly content having a wet or poopie diaper. It's me that wants the more absorbent ones, especially at night. I try to change him pretty frequently during the day to avoid the diaper rash, but if I use the cheaper diapers at night, he wets through them and his pajamas get all wet.

That's a good question cause mothers are always conscious about this. I do think that even though babies cant think for themselves yet, they do care if the diaper is absorbent or not. Not the way we care but they do. I think its better to give babies absorbent diapers so that they can be comfortable which mothers are also comfortable.

Babies care for what diapers you may let them wear. Though the child cannot speak their thoughts through words but they can show you by crying. On the other hand , their body let it show like rashes and itchiness. We have to be very careful of our babies sometimes they have a sensitive skin and may get irritated. In my case my only son liked PAMPERS than other brands.

I guess it's the marketing strategy, kind of making the parents rethink their diaper choice and how a baby would feel (if they were in the baby's position) wearing a soggy diaper. Of course a diaper that can hold a lot would save a lot of money, not to mention effort in changing the baby's diaper every once in a while. The baby wouldn't know or care if their diaper is soggy, it's just that the parent should care about which diaper can be best for babies!

You don't have kids, do you? lol
Have you ever fallen into a lake or pond, or gotten caught in an unexpected downpour and had to sit in your wet clothes for a while until they dried out or you were able to change? Most of the time it's not very comfortable. Why should a baby feel any differently about wearing a wet diaper?

No, but mommy and the person changing the diaper care. Have you ever changed a runny diaper? I have! That is the worst kind of diaper to have to change, and the more absorbent the diaper is, the easier it is to change. Parents want a diaper that can hold a lot.

I don't think a baby cares about such issue but i guess their skin does. When my little girl still uses diaper, her skin reacts, like getting rashes and irritated if i put her a non-clothe like nappy. They can't talk or comment but they can convey it through crying because of discomfort.

I have to agree with the first poster, they don't care if its absorbent, but if they are wet and uncomfortable they let us know. I've tried about 4 different types of diapers, by far for my child, the best is Pampers because of the way they fit.

They really don't care what kind of diapers we put into them. All they know is to cry when they are not comfortable with what they are wearing or using, and that's what concerns the mom.
