oh? there in your place, there is pan de ice cream?
well,in our place (since we were both in the philippines) there's no one selling here pan de ice cream. we are the ones who buy ice cream then we also buy buns in separate.then it's up to us if we would like to combine the two or not. well, usually we tend to spread ice cream t buns to make the sweetness lessen or just the thought of eating them at the same time. but i really loved ice cream with or without buns or bread with it.

i'm from Zamboanga city and we don't have it there. 8 months ago, i started working here in pasay city and one break time at the office, i noticed this guy stuffing some ice cream in bread. i didn't know that it exists here. i asked an officemate how it tastes like. she told me that it's quite good and i should try it sometime. it tastes like monay with ice cream. the two would give it a creamier taste. i don't know, i haven't tried it yet but it's something i won't stay way either. bread afterall is made up fof some dairy products.

It was something I waS craving for this afternoon when I heard the ice cream man's bell. Unfortunately, the craving was not quite satisfied because the ice cream man did not have bread on his cart. I just had to content myself with plain avocado ice cream which was good enough snack on a hot afternoon.

i love pan de ice cream hehehe
it's weird but it's really fulfilling
and much better than barquillos
the bread soaks up the ice cream giving it a fuller taste
mmmm

mmm...ice cream in a bun. i like!
we have ice-cream vendors who go around on their motorcycles selling ice cream, and most of them carry around buns to serve it in. it's a trend that started a couple of years ago, i think... but yum yum..i like!

Yes... I really love pan de ice cream ha ha ha only in the Philippines! I'm proud to be pinoy. Although, some people think it's bizarre. I think it is the Pinoy version of ice cream sandwich. According to Mr. Wiki, ice cream sandwich originated in Australia. Ice cream sandwich is actually made of cookies with layer of ice cream "sandwich" between two cookies or two piece of cakes.
Someone copied that dessert and used bun/pan instead, everyone likes the taste of it and so it became popular here in the Philippines.

Yes, I have tried one of those. It was ube and quezo flavored ice cream. It was introduce to me by my officemate one summer afternoon. We were supposed to grabbed a snack at Ministop when suddenly we came across ice cream rolling store. He encourage me to try it and I like it. I'm only having a hard time finishing it up because my front teeth are sensitive...

I have not yet tried eating ice cream in buns. But it's a norm that when we eat ice cream with my family and friends, it should go with bread - whether it's pan de sal or sandwich bread. I don't like eating ice cream only, it has to got with something. But maybe I'll try stuffing ice cream in pan de sal or in sandwiches. :-)

lol ..i remember my friend's american boyfriend.. It was a huge culture shock to him seeing us eating icecream with bread. he refused to eat icecream that way maybe bcoz bread to them is like rice to us. So it was like eating rice with icecream if we were in his shoe :P . Anyway, I love eating icecream in a bun :)
