In December 2003, I bought a new Ford F-150 Supercrew pickup. I've never had a problem with it and it still drives great. I don't plan on buying a new pickup, partly because I don't need a new truck and partly because they're too expensive and partly because I don't have the money and partly... Do you plan on buying a new car/pickup in the near future? If so, will you be buying new or used? How long do you hold on to a vehicle? Do you buy new every so many years or do you hang on to them until they die...like I do? I'm interested in your car buying behavior and plans. Thanks for responding.

hahaha
I drive a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. I LOVE it. I have no intentions of getting a new/used/different vehicle anytime soon. I have had this for a LONG time. It is the perfect size, the perfect handling, I can turn on a dime. It is comfortable, doesnt look too bad, but it does need a paint job now. It is dependable and I enjoy driving it. oh and the best part? I owe NO money on it! Paid cash so I have never had payments! and insurance is low.

I tend to hang on to vehicles, too, well...I still have my first car I got in college, a 1969 mercury cougar (and she's been totally restored and is a beauty). I kept my Dodge Dakota convertible pickup from 1989 to 2006, but I finally sold it when I determined I really didn't need two pickups and a car. I intend to hang on to this pickup, because I can't afford a new one and I don't want to finance a new one...and there's nothing wrong with the Ford that a good detail won't fix. The paint's still great on it and there's no dents, etc. and it's paid off too. And I love it that way. It doesn't turn on a dime like your Jeep, but it sure handles my two miles of rock road...I even use the four-wheel drive on our road! Hope your jeep lasts forever!

Yeah, my Mom can't get in to my truck (it's too tall for her now that she's had a knee and hip replacement) and she's afraid to drive her van on my road, so she hasn't been to my house in over a year! And we only live 15 miles apart (but it takes 30 minutes because of the road). I'll be getting another 4-wheel-drive truck when this one really does die... Either that or sell the house and move back in to town

I'll be buying a new car in a few months, and then I will be driving that car till it falls to peices, I dont actually have my own car right now, Im just sharing one, so Im waiting a few months to save some money and then will buy my own, I dont care about the type or the age, or even what colour it is, all I want is a smallish car that will get me from home to work without any issues, so I probably will be spending a bit more as I do want it to last a few years.

Not really researched any models, I have been asking some of the boys in work who are car mad about what type of car will last, and they have given me some ideas about what not to get, and about what is quite good and reliable, and I'll be taking my father with me when I go shopping for it so hopefully he will stop me buying anything that will break down, he's had quite good luck with cars so I should do ok with him lol!

I'm happy that you're happy with your car and I hope it lasts for as long as you want it to last. I don't see me getting a new truck for years and years. I just hope it lasts on the road I have to drive to get in and out of my home???!! Have a great day, Gabs.
